Most people think that black men don't love certain types of music.... But I can say that that shit rocks till Monday!! Then I have to listen again till Sunday!!
Most people are absolutely shocked that I love James Brown and lose it when I'm playing metal on my 5 string and roll right into "Cold Sweat" or "I Got Ants in My Pants And I Need to Dance".
Wow that was a really disgusting unintentional diss to the literal god of Fretless Bass, Steve DiGiorgio (who wrote the bass line to this song that Lapointe is playing, just like he did note for note)
Man, this is the best bass player today ... without any doubts! After Stevie DiGiorgio, he is the best bassist of Death Metal I could aconpanhar in years! Fucking yeah !!! 666%...
Not so easy,bro... There are a lot of bass players that can be considered "the best bass player today" out there. Jeff Hughell,Mike Flores,Erland Caspersen,Scott Plummer...
I'm a little confused. This song is on Death's Individual Thought Patterns record not Symbolic. Steve DiGiorgio slayed the fretless on that record. Remember buying it, 15 years old, 1st time hearing fretless bass on a death metal record and being blown away.
very good! also-- wouldn't it be entertaining doing a part at multitrack projects with Bandhub! I almost always like playing saxo ... You and I may get together at that website! That may be excellent!
Really good, but I think you can play the interlude/chorus twiddle a bit better (based on your playing in other vids). The bass line follows the triplet sound of the bass drums if you wanna lock it down more.
hey man, how many fingers are you using for the actual picking? i can see u muting strings with your thumb, but i'm not sure if you're actually using it to pick
Maury Hita As I have found in the comments on his Omnipresent Perception Bass playthrough, this is luthier bass made by Michelle Fournelle (hope I spelled it right)
It's a fretless so all notes ares "0". hahaha just kidding. Everything related to The Symbolic Death Tribute has been learned bu ear and as far as I know none of us did transcribe anything.
+SoundsofDecay There is a tab for this song and to almost every song from this album and the bass on those tabs is very accurate, they are hosted on ultimate-guitar site, you need the guitar pro program though
This guy will forever be my idol on fretless bass.
What about the composer, Steve DiGiorgio.
+Tommy Ellis di giorgio is legend.and i see this guy is on his way to legendary thing, cause he is young and great bassplayer.
Sean Malone is also pretty amazing
JEDIMASTERZAK no way
He's 40 and DiGiorgio is 49...not much difference.
One of my favorite Death songs covered by one of my favorite bassists

black people always have to bring race into it smh....
Black men liking bass guitars is actually a bit of a stereotype :D

@@Xiphos1349 well it's kinda racist to be fair (I am not white btw)
His intonation is fucking perfect...
One of the coolest playthroughs I've ever seen - of anything.
Hi everybody and Thanks for your comments! I give bass lessons on Skype now, you can write me at forestbasse@gmail.com ! Cheers
Dude sick AF playing. Death rules!
Imagine Forest playing in Death. Damn.

Dang was that an artifical harmonic slide at 00:34!!!
Yes.

It's a natural harmonic slide, actually

I figured it out before you responded to this haha.
lache pas mon pot !!!
Anyone know what kind of strings he use?
Sean Sorensen i seem to recall that he prefers roundwounds even tho he uses a fretless,
Sean Sorensen I don't know what he uses but I've heard that nylon wound are the best for this stuff
tab?
It's a fretless so all notes ares "0". hahaha just kidding. Everything related to The Symbolic Death Tribute has been learned bu ear and as far as I know none of us did transcribe anything.
fair enough, i've just been trying to figure out parts of this song for ages with no luck. really impressive cover!
Antoine Baril
It took me like a full 30 seconds to get that joke, haha
+SoundsofDecay There is a tab for this song and to almost every song from this album and the bass on those tabs is very accurate, they are hosted on ultimate-guitar site, you need the guitar pro program though
+SoundsofDecay Ultimate-guitar.com guitar pro tab - I did it, its pretty much 99% accurate ;)
Perfect, but this is not symbolic, wtf?
puta merda o Chuck era muito foda
Steve Digiorgio was so good on that album, too bad they butchered the mix.
he was also awesome on Human and let's not talk about that mix ...
@@MadiUk77 Isn't that the reason he left? :D
