Nice review - Thanks! I have some high end guitars but I’m always looking to have fun with an inexpensive one. I have wanted to try some brand guitars I see reviewed from Europe but a lot of them are not set up to ship to the US. like Fazley and Gear 4 Music, etc. Harley Benton (Thomann) and East Coast (Andertons) will ship but by the time you add the shipping cost you are up to the price of a decent model available in the US guitar (Squier Classic Vibe or a variety of Epiphones). Of course we have brands available here with free shipping that are entry level (Donner, Glarry, Indio, Leo Jaymz, etc) but I’ve tried a few of them and they are really poor quality compared to what I hear about the readily available UK entry brands. All the best!
Much appreciated! Ah, the shipping is such a shame. The Eastcoast Les Paul is a super guitar. Really really good for the cost. I've played it a couple of times now on my journey to the next Les Paul... for now if all goes to plan I'll picking up the new Epi Studio in Smokehouse Burst tomorrow. It's a fantastic guitar... and more easily available in the US! This G4M strat is good for a really cheap guitar. They do different scratchplates with a humbucker in the bridge too. They clearly want people to mod and have some fun with it. I've heard terrible things about Glarry, so I'm not sure I'll ever bother to play or review it...! Keep rockin'
..i bought two of them..the sunburst had sharp fret ends..and the black one had fret buzz on the second fret so i had to put the strings higher from the fretboard..the nice thing with this guitar is the weight..
Yeah, the weight is great. I think right now it's my lightest guitar. Sharp frets/fret buzz, a bit of time and careful use of sandpaper can sort that.
..or knock on the frets gently with a hammer..the neck isn't that good because of the fretbuzz on both of the l a guitars i bought..it will be the ibanez grx40 in the future instead.. :) @@appetiteforguitar
Hey, I recently saw another video reviewing the same guitar. In that review, there were comments about tuning, apparently the guitar easily goes out of tune, do you have any thoughts about that, is it true? Because I purchased the guitar myself, and I find myself a big paranoid about tuning? If there are problems corresponding to the tuning, would replacing the strings fix the problem? Or what would? Would appreciate your response, thanks.
No worries, tuning on a strat style guitar can be influenced by a lot of things... the tremolo, the nut and the tuners are some of the main things. Yes, strings too. So tremolo - for max stabiity if it concerns you, tighten it all the way down in the back of the guitar, then it can't move at all and cause you to go out of tune. The nut should be properly lubricated to let the strings move easily as you play - easy fix is a bit of pencil or just a dab of oil e.g. lemon oil you would use on the fretboard using an old string. The tuners do make a difference. I was lucky on mine, they are ok, but it's a cheap guitar so maybe they're not all the same - having said that you can tighten the screw a little in the top of the tuning peg which might help a bit as it will prevent the tuning peg moving too much and may help - or just change the tuners. Regarding strings, make sure you really stretch them out when you first put them on, so tune them, literally pull on them away from the fretboard and do that 3 times and tune up each time. Overall, it's a decent enough guitar for cheap. It's pretty cool for modding too.
@@appetiteforguitar Thanks for replying, although if the guitar goes out of tune, (I mean that it doesn’t hold its tune for that long) could that be due to cheap strings? Does your version go out of tune easily?
Cheap strings can make a difference. Make sure to stretch them out though as I suggested which can help. Mine stays in tune pretty well. D'Addario is a good brand for example. I also really like Rotosound guitar strings. If that doesn't help, any of the factors I mentioned would make a difference.
