It took the Afghans years to push the Russians out.
With America all they had to do in the end was wait for them to leave and as a bonus prize collect 300’000 small arms, 1000s of military vehicles, some helicopters and even a couple of fighter jets that the Afghan army neglected to fly to Tajikistan.
Oh and the Nato forces even helped rehouse 100’000 non believers Afghani’s in their own countries and their tax payers pick up the bill, shortly before China moves in with nothing more than a handshake and a smile and begin rebuilding the Afghan economy in return for mineral rights.
    Never mind,
10 years from now American tourists will be able to drive through the kajaki mountains on a 6 lane Chinese built highway with an Afghan dude tour guide in fake Armani sunglasses telling stories of how the courageous Taliban fooled two superpowers into wasting Trillions and welcomed a third one who sold them Samsung TVs and electric cars without firing a shot..
Sort of like Vietnam does today really.
