How to set up Classic-Offensive in cs2

csgo_legacy:
1) In Steam Library: Right-Click on Counter-Strike 2 -> Properties -> Betas
2) in Betas section select csgo_legacy - Legacy Version of CS:GO
AFTER DOWNLOADING csgo_legacy:
Method 1 (used in video)
1) Right-Click on Counter-Strike 2 -> General
2) in Launch Options section, select Play Legacy Version of CS:GO
3) add -game cscomod/csgo to launch options
4) if the mod has its' dedicated .exe file, USE IT ONLY ONCE (RUN AS ADMIN) TO BUILD SYMLINKS TO CS:GO FOLDERS (this prevents FPS freezes and workshop maps issues)
5) run Counter-Strike 2
method 2 if 1st method didnt work:
1) in Steam Library: click Add a Game -> Add a Non-Steam Game
2) select csgo.exe (via explorer or the shown list, it should be located in CS2 INSTALL FOLDER)
3) in newly created icon of Steam Library: RIght-Click on it -> Shortcut
4) add -steam -game YOURMODNAME/csgo to launch options
4) if the mod has its' dedicated .exe file, USE IT ONLY ONCE (RUN AS ADMIN) TO BUILD SYMLINKS TO CS:GO FOLDERS (this prevents FPS freezes and workshop maps issues)
6) run CS:GO via the created icon, not CS2

So as far as I'm aware, Valve released something about the legacy launcher losing support next month, do you know if any what changes this will have to this or the playability of historical steamdb depots of GO updates?

As far as I'm aware we do not know since valve keeps it a secref, we will have to find out on the 1st 😂

What is the purpose of this mod? Can't you just play 1.6 if you want that "classic" feel? What kind of virus is in that sus .exe?

You can play cs1.6 if you want which is probably a great experience but its a revamp from cs1.6 ported into Csgo for people who wanted to reminisce the old days. As for viruses, there was a few big streamers and pros that played it like shroud m so take it as you like. I also checked with antivirus software and seems clean. However ever since the release of cs2 the servers in some pet of the world is pretty dead since people wasn’t aware of legacy
