    you also could use a constan rate measurements. then plot Shear Stress vs Shear rate and get the yield stress value from the intercept.

    So to compare one sample of mayo against the other its enough to do yield stress to tell which is thicker without doing full viscosity on 10 diff speeds?

    Hi, great video. I was just wondering what type of cone/plate is used for oscillating rheology? I heard a plate should be used for Oscillating and cone for measuring viscosity. Can someone explain please?

    • @hendaia66
      @hendaia66 Před 8 lety

      +Elliot Douse , Maybe a bit latte but I answer anyway. NO, that is not true, you can measure G' and G" with the three different plate configurations: Flat/Flat, Flat Cone or Biconical. Ussually biconical are ussed for Elastomer rheology (Rubber), thus the torque is equal in all the surface of the plate.

    how to find the yield stress for honey??

    • @jamesgriebler
      @jamesgriebler Před 2 lety

      Honey does not have a yield stress, it is a Newtonian fluid, with a large viscosity.
