Fun Mountain amusement park was not on top of that mountain. See the big empty space near chairlift in background, exactly at 2:34, which look like a parking lot? There was whole Fun Mountain amusement park, closed 2000, demolished 2008.

Jacob sometimes you about give me a heart attack with your risk taking! Climbing around in the dark , dangerous areas, all alone! Not trying to sound like "Dear Old Mom " here , but you make me think about my son trying all this crazy stuff! Love your videos and right now you're in my FAVORITE area in the world, but BE CAREFUL!!!!! You're much more attentive to danger while Anna is with you! I suggest you take her EVERYWHERE!

Hi hello, granddaughter of the owner of fun mountain here. Fun mountain park was centered on the concrete areas at the base of the chair lift. The chair lift was just one of the rides. There was a tiny little train attraction at the very top but I don’t remember it much. The golf course was also part of fun mountain. In it’s Hey Day it was booming with a slingshot, yo-yo swings, scrambler, bumper boats and cars, an arcade. It just couldn’t compete with Dollywood. Now I believe the chairs are down but I can’t remember. A bajillion people hold tiny percentages of the ownership and no one can agree on what to do with the land... so there she sits. Hopefully one day we get an awesome offer. In the meantime I’m hoping to do something with it.
I used to work at Fun Mountain when I was 12 and I'm actually trying to research that train attraction. I don't remember it ever being there when Fun Mountain was open. Do you know where I can find a ride list or anything to confirm it was actually a part of Fun Mountain?

I remember riding the lift with my mom in 1981. You just jumped off when the guy told you to as it went around the curve. I was terrified.

What did the amusment park look like when it was closed but all the buildings were still there and the rides. And what did the chairlift path look like at that time

Wow...two abandoned attractions for the price of one!
The 2 attractions went hand in hand. They were owned by the same person, Brownlee Reagan and managed by my favorite manager ever, Will Watson. As you can tell I know alot about Gatlinburg Amusement Park aka Fun Mountain. I am one of the original employees who worked there from April of 1995 until late July of 1998. The mini golf course was called Ted E Bear Falls.

That was also the site of the historic Mountain View Hotel! The mini golf course was built on part of the hotel’s foundation.

really interesting to say the least,, I've watched three of your videos now and liked `em all,,, don't even like these types of videos just because for the most part the people doing them don't have any idea of what the hell they're talking about and annoy the fuck out of me,,, besides all that your videos are crystal clear and the drone scenery was awesome to see,,, ya got my sub brother !!
i wish i could explore places like this. its incredible to me to look at things once abandoned, but i live in nyc and nothing is abandoned for long, and if you get caught that charge is quite pricy 😅 id love to visit places that people wouldnt immediately call the police on you for exploring
