    Coffee ground in the landfill is compost. In brazil we throw the used coffee in ferns or other house plants,but ferns grow super pretty with it.

    will these give us a caffeine boost?

    • @VR00100
      @VR00100 Před 4 měsíci +7

      100% without a doubt
      That's the reason why we don't spray pesticides that much anymore, instead we use GMOs (be it we don't know the long term effects). Plants/Fungi basically absorb whatever nutrient it is given, that's why when you keep a white rose in blue dye-ed water solution the rose will turn blue.
      I still think it would be fine to have them once in a blue moon, however eating them regularly might give the same side effects as regular caffeine. If you are a heart patient of any sort it should be clear that this should not be consumed then

    coffee grounds naturally decompose in landfills.

    • @ConstantChaos1
      @ConstantChaos1 Před měsícem

      What? No they dont, they decompose anaerobically inside of plastic bags
      Not aerobically on the surface and in the soil but in giant lined pits that prevent natural processes

    "to eliminate waste". Bruh you're growing them in plastic bags. Tell me this process is a net negative for the landfill cuz I doubt it

      Sent to commercial composting facilities for further processing and distribution or, as in some cases, collected and used locally by the public and businesses.

  • @universeslap
    @universeslap Před 6 měsíci +1

    I know, that mushrooms in general absorb many substances from enviroment, so I'm curious if it by any chance pick up some caffeine from those coffee grounds??

      Have you looked at the food industry industry as a whole? Almost everything is wrapped in plastic either during production or transportation, or by the time it reaches the end consumer for presentation/convenience/preservation.
      At least this industry diverts hundreds of tonnes of compost from landfill. The bags in this controlled setting may also be bioplastic and composted in an commercial setting where certain temperature conditions are met.
      A little critical thinking goes a long way.
