it's sample based music... basically he just has a drum loop sample going the whole time and then occasionally a vocal sample will come in for harmonies. he's playing the guitar and singing live. that's more than enough. it would be impossible for one person to sing, and play all the instruments simultaneously live. who cares if some stuff is prerecorded samples. he clearly can play, and is only doing that so that he can perform his music. he super talented.
@eatmewhileimnot I'm just sayin'...since he started playing shows with Sonic Boom he has been doing more live stuff regarding loopy goodness and vocal effects since he has the freedom to do so. But in this he's just playing along to a backing track and it still sounds awesome.

My guess as since this is before he released any singles for Tomboy he was playing along to the track he "recorded" instead of triggering any vocal tracks because...well, it's hard triggering vocal back-ups in rhythm to the song. Have you tried? It's REALLY hard.

I just realized he's just playing along to a recording of the song. You can hear the vocal's in the background if you listen closely.
Yeah, it's the same in the studio too though. He's one person, he likes to layer vocals to make the melodies of his vocals stand out.
