IMPORTANT: this can be a polarizing topic in the bass world so please keep all discussion respectful and constructive. I anticipate a lot of opinions and I’m so stoked to hear them all!

D'Addario Chromes (flats) would like a word with you. They are the brightest flats I've played. But rounds are great too. And then there are those super light steels (Funkmaster 66 by Rotosound). Those are super thin 30-50-70-90 and good for lighter playing.

Chromes broooooo. But all D'Addario strings are good. I used their acoustic strings too when I owned my guitar.

Rounds is all I've played in my year and a half of bass playing. I might like flats but im not sure lol.

I prefer DR DDT and LO-Rider strings.😎 Stable, clear sounding and longlasting.👌🏻 Works well with my low tunings and amount of distortion I use...🤘🏻😇

Flatwounds seem to be more forgiving. Rounds require me to be much more precise with my fingering

Totally understandable! The texture of strings can totally affect playability. Despite preferring rounds, I do agree with you that flats are easier on the hands from a feel standpoint.

This can be a polarizing topic? People can really argue about anything, I guess. You seem to have good reasons for why you like them. I'm sure others have their reasons for liking what they like too
