- When CFMOTO and KTM formed a joint venture in 2017 , it was always going to be an interesting one to watch . Chinese bikes have had the reputation of being very good value for money but with a tendency to fall apart in front of you .
So , how did I find this 650 parallel twin ? What was it like to ride and what were my initial impressions on the build and component quality?
Definitely a bike built to a price , and it shows, it is a competent bike. Is this one to consider , if it is within your target budget ? - Auta a dopravní prostředky
It's the 800NK that has grabbed my attention, especially the base model. An acquaintance in Chiang Rai, Thailand rode from China to England on an early CFMoto and didn't have one issue. I'd have one. Nick
I think its a nice looking bike!
Nice review. I had the MT650 and covered over 7000 miles touring the UK. Not a single fault. For £4k who cares what you lose after the 4-year warranty is up.
@@MickBoswell If you can get 4 years good use out of the bike , it wont owe you much . Cheap transport .

@@impreza99rs Thank you . The bike , as you can tell by the comments isn’t everyone’s “cup of tea” and indeed is one of the reasons I cover bikes like this . Show it for it really is and let people make their own minds up .

I often wonder when l see bikes at this price level, are CF Moto/China and other budget companies based in India, simply trying to elbow their way to the top of an extremely lucrative world motorcycle market.
I prefer to buy quality bikes second hand and I'm currently riding a beautiful 2011 Triumph bonneville 865 which cost me £2500, an absolute beauty 😍 l did buy it from a friend who did me a really good deal.
Triumph make beautiful bikes.
@@mikerider58 Thanks Mike . I like Triumphs as well. They are designed in the UK but actually assembled in Thailand , using products made throughout the world , including China . The cost of manufacturing in the west is just too high to make anything but high value items . You can’t open a fridge door or put on a kettle without using something “made in China “ ?

Design. Its The NK 800 thats Based on the KTM that they also Build
£4000! how on earth can they produce, distribute, provide a four warranty and make a profit on what appears to be a very good value for money motorcycle. Bonkers!

I have ridden one , I had a day at Donnington but sadly Stuart , who does the filming wasn’t available . Riding one again in August so will see if Stuart is available for that one 🤞
Nice put together video Michael. One wonders what the bike will be worth after four years. Not much me thinks😮
@@jontyg9112 I suspect that is fair . Equally if you spend 25K on a new bike you will have lost 4k on the day you registered it 🤷🏼♂️

Michael. Those more affluent bikers purchasing 25K bikes can easily write off a 4K depreciation. This bike is aimed at those budget bikers and they'll be left with very little in value at the end of four years.
@@jontyg9112 True . Equally if you can get 4 years out of one and it is worth a few hundred , it is still cheap transport ..
Another comprehensive review on a bike that's just OK but what do you expect for 4 grand, a Ducati sadly no. One comment i always make on most modern bikes and this is no exception is why oh why can't they put a decent front mudguard on, who likes trying to get all the crud off the radiator and engine. Not me or you i suspect Michael.
@@ianhalliwell8604 I agree . I suspect some would fit an extender to the bottom of the front mudguard to address it .
I also agree on the price comment . It certainly felt like an OK bike and I suspect some will be tempted by the price point to have a brand new bike . I can understand that 👍
That 650 parallel twin engine is a copy of the Kawasaki engine I have in my 2017 Versys 650. The Versys engine produces 69BHP and returns over 60MPG. Why is the CF moto engine so much worse?
It isn't. The 22 650nk actually had 71bhp but they detuned the engine starting from 23 to clear a path for their 450 platform.
My bike has 67hp measured on the dyno and is stock.
As I say in the video there were different numbers on the website to the numbers the dealer gave me . I went with the dealer supplied numbers . I personally have a Suzuki Vstrom which has c70 hp according to Suzuki . It feels quite a bit faster than the CF MOTO that I rode…

£4000 for this bike, sounds like economic warfare.
As I am sure you know , the western world is brimming with Chinese products or components installed in other countries products . The iPhone I am typing on is “Made in China” . They secure these contracts /sales on price 🤷🏼♂️
Not everyone is comfortable dealing with them , which I respect, but I sense few seem prepared to pay more for goods from the more mature and developed markets ?
Or good value.

@@davmanlop333 The style and delivery . My videos have a beginning , a middle and an end . I also mostly use words you can find in a dictionary .. such old fashioned concepts 😂

I am looking for a new bike. I will not buy anything made in that country. The new tracer 9 is on the short list.
I reviewed the Tracer . Thought it was a very capable bike .. 👍

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😂 . I thought it was very KTM , which people tend to either like or not ?
