  • This one was long overdue!!
One of my most useful components I build to have in stock in quantity are the Ikea ‘Torka’ Stick Structures. They are my building blocks like Lego toys, that I use in conjunction with chicken wire rolls and pillows to construct easy mechanics for larger designs and installations. They add extra dimension and attach points, and make the flowering quicker and efficient as well as add volume to the design and maximize use of materials in the vain of Economy of Means.

I made one arrangement two ways today with the Torka sticks. The first one was a lovely and light option where you can see the dimensions of the Torka and the other one where I (probably definitely) overstuffed it. My son walked by both times and said he loved the first one better. I am just in love with the structure & naturalistic look it provides. I'm taking your Floristic Dialog course (both the live one on Complex Harmony and the on demand one). Your designs are otherworldly. Thank you Hitomi!

Just to let you know how far reaching your videos are… I live on the island of Hawaii, I am not a florist, and I’m close to 80. I still delight in the joy of creating floral arrangements and certainly learn something new every time I am privileged to watch your videos.
