As you may have noticed…. My favorite element of design is LINE. Line is responsible for visual flow in an arrangement. So many of my techniques and mechanics involve use of linear components. Today, I’d like to share how I build a structure inspired by Art Nouveau, ready for flowering.
Art Nouveau motifs typically involve a series of sinuous curving lines, inspired by the plant world. Building a decorative armature, structure or trellis first, provides sensuous lines as supporting mechanics for your design. With use of this type of structure as the foundation, you will have already introduced beautiful Art Nouveau motif to which you add just enough flowers to complete the open form design. This style of design brings importance to the negative space created to be as important as the space occupied by the flowers.

LOVE THIS! So inspired by this and hope to try this out sometime. I think it takes great skill to design more open/airy pieces like this and even a keen, studious eye at nature. It's truly an art!

Beautiful. Wish you had shown entire steps of building structure. Also, How many flowers would you have room to add? Would love to see how you would have finished it.

Muchas gracias.
