Interesting fact about this game. There are 13 other games like it on the database! The reason? It is a good way to get a pre-arranged draw. The first time this game was repeated was in 2003 between Mario Villanueva and Lucas Gargiulo. The most recent time was in 2019 between Susanto Megaranto and Azarya Jodi Setyaki. The strongest pair of players to repeat this game to a draw were Rauf Mamedov (2659 ELO) and Aleksej Aleksandrov (2554 ELO)
Aman Hambleton also covered this game in one of his lectures on St. Louis Chess Club's channel. I recognized the names of the fairly unknown players right away. The most amazing draw is the only way to describe this game. It's beautiful!

black is forcing white to repeat the position over and over again. He can't mate him but bot players are stuck in a loop so it's a draw by rule if the position is repeated 3 times. The players saw that and agreed to a draw beforehand
Sam. I'm not impugning the players of this game, but..... my gut reaction is a setup game!! I HOPE NOT......
