0:34 After just seeing his friend nearly fall into a bottomless crevasse "Are you OK?" ... Guy who just nearly fell into a bottomless crevasse, "I don't know how we're going to get it out." Haha, you absolute legend.
Yeah. Darwin is definitely there......Dude.......call your insurance and get a new one.
Surprising how little it takes to be legendary nowadays. Just like awesome.
"I just supermanned off it." Excellent.

Word to the wise, wear your goggles when a helicopter is flying above you
Edmonton is better than Calgary
@@sentientglitch sweet bro 👍🏼
Thanks
@@CalgaryDynastar It’s way better than Calgary
@@sentientglitch my mom can beat up ur mom
Love how his friend asked right away if he was okay didn’t even care about the snowmobile
His snowmobiles replaceable, and his friend isnt.
I love how it even needs to be mentioned in this day and age... because most people don’t really give a rats ass even about their own friends.
@@T410ce Unity is necessary
Snow machines are cheap. Good friends are priceless.
Well, that is normal You should care more about people and animals than your machines......
You get a like for the beginning... you sir have skills...
That looked like an expensive recovery.
if thats where I think it is....it's the first time I have seen a crevasse there. Glad you were able to huck over that man, might have been a sad ending. cheers from Golden
Cheers man
Where is it then
He wouldn’t have died had he fallen in, his partners could have just grabbed a very long rope and fed and into the crevasse so that he could climb out.
jerry delyea golden British Columbia Canada?
@@mrepix8287 depends on how far he is down there
Damn that’s crazy Happy you’re alright man. Quick smart reactions to bailing out, scary shit👍😖
Wow sketchy shit dude you're lucky you're alive and got those spiderman like reflexes
thanks, I know!
Nice to see you made it out! Crazy experience thanks for the video
Woah! You were very lucky that day! Great job paying attention & having quick reaction time👏🏼👍🏽
so who paid for the helicopter to rescue the snowmobile? Just wondering since it wasn't a person seems pretty major... for a snowmobile
Zoe V couldn't you just get a winch and pull it out
I don't know if it's a stupid thing to say but that's what I figured I didn't know you had to get a helicopter to get it I figured I went on another couple snowmobiles and pull it the fuck out
Maybe insurance cover it
probably wedged in there pretty good and sleds dont really pull that great.
It was wedged in there pretty good, and we were worried if we dug too much around the sled it would fall even further and then we may have a broken sled instead:)
Mountain riding is the best, but also the most dangerous. Glad to see you and your sled made it out ok
Bet your riding pants were hella warm for about 4 minutes after...
Man, that’s some amazing reaction time right there. Without that superman over, have a feeling you wouldn’t be uploading this.
That's it. I've been wavering but the next time I renew my AAA, I'm ticking off the helicopter rescue option!
That was crazy! Nice jump
"Back to riding!"
*Proceeds to drive right back into the crevasse*
Holy crap!! Dude happy ending. You could have easily lost machine, but more important ....YOUR SELF. WOW
Scary and expense ride. Glad you made a safe jump though!!!
that the fact that you could just come across these crevasses makes me never want to visit a national park in the winter.
Nice jump Andrew. Ignore the negative comments. You did nothing wrong. A helicopter was a good choice, given the precarious situation.
Same thing happened to me but i was able to pin it at the last second and cased the other side and went over the handle bars but my sled just made it up. How much did that cost?
Dang, mad respect to the ones who agreed to send a heli out to it.
Fairly common in these parts.
That's some awesome AAA tow coverage! 😄
I like that his friend drove right past the crevasse and didn't even warn him... Man I wonder how much that helicopter lift out costs... more than the sled.
Hey Andrew I just subscribed to your channel. I have a summit rev that I built. Anyway I was wondering what it cost to have it lifted out ? And I’m glad to see that your ok. You got super lucky there
It's crazy how you can't see the crevasse until you already fell.
My uncle's brother died a while back in snowmobiling in Alberta when he fell into a crevasse. Broke his neck.
Always have a rescue helicopter standing by when you go snowmobiling. It's one of the ten essentials along with map, compass etc.
Yup along with a few grand cash, just the bare necessities 😆
@@jacobperi1000 ur missing a ps4 in case you get stuck in a crevasse
I've flown over a crevasse like that on a sled before. It was in a relatively flat open field. I went back to check it out. Seemed like it was formed by the wind and a boulder.
I’m guessing this is the Catamount Glacier in the Forster Drainage west of Radium Hot Springs, BC.
wow......that was a close call......what stopped the machine from going down further....* I would have been nervous standing 10 ft from the edge of that crevasse.....
Wow scary! I once drove off a cornice that I did not see kinda like what happened to you. It was like a 10 ft drop to flat ground. Hit pretty hard...
What do they do after discovering a hole like this?
Hey I'm glad to see that you are ok. Falling into crevasses like that is quite common, and in a lot of cases is fatal. Good thinking in jumping off at the last moment. Also what is the name of the song at 0:46? Thanks
One republic-if I lose myself tonight
bottomless?
Connection's or what how do ya get a chopper or is that a common problem
And a beautiful sunset as a gift
I wonder what's the hole from? Water?
Who did you call and how much did it cost
Whoa!!..... lucky fellow, that was very close to being an extremely unfortunate afternoon. ...SO?.... what did you learn that you will do differently when glacier riding next I'd be interested to hear.?
Must've had a killstreak to call in a chopper like that
Lol good one😅
Nice how you managed to organise a heli rescue for the mobile
How do you know it is bottomless
Was this by chance in Sicamous BC?
That's sketchy as, what if while attaching the rope the snow gives way?
1:10 that's gonna be an expensive tow lol
glade your ok.
It's hella difficult seeing holes like that when the sun isn't up and casting shadows. Lucky that the sled didn't fall deeper :)
Gig yuihg whteujft vjtobht the is ala biu
that jump off to the side was badass!
0:25 Damn, good thing you didn't go down with the thing, quick reflexes!
I had to shout "Yes!!!" When the chopper pulled that sled out.
Yikes! And I really (don't) wanna know what a helicopter recovery cost ya!!!???
Good thing for the guide! And your superman skills! LOL
Thanks man! Ill just say it made for an expensive story!
Probably less than a new sled
CalgaryDynastar probably around the same. Heli ride to hospital Costed my son 11 grand
notagoon695 It was nowhere near that! Hope your son is okay!
radam3 how much did it cost?
How much did that cost?
He's got friends in high places.
How much did the chopper cost
What was the price for the helicopter
Wow, cool video!
crazy glad you were ok
basically this can happen to anyone anytime their in an are with glaciers? this seems safe.
Damn I hate to ask but how much did that help from the helicopter cost?
Thank god for chopper support but why would he drop it off a 1/2 mile back up the hill?
Song in the video?
How much did THAT cost?
You do know the crack sometimes extends out with weak spots... use a jerry rigged pole or something next time to attach a carabiner or something to the back of the snowmobile.. not worth it
thats one hell of a pilot
How much did that recovery cost? 🤔
I randomly had something like this pop up, when I was riding my dirtbike in southern Utah. I just leaned back and went WOT, back tire hit the other side hard. Almost crashed into some rocks, but I somehow made it across. For a split second, I thought there was no way I wasn't going to be crippled the rest of my life. Now I just have student loan debt.
What did the helicopter tow cost you?
How much did the helicopter recovery mission cost you?
about $1000 USD... We tried pulling it out by hand but were worried it would fall further!
Did you have insurance coverage on the snowmobile that helped?
Andrew Olson I just bought a new sled, the cost of the rescue copter is peanuts kudos bro glad your safe
wow...no choice though.
probably could have hooked 3 snowmobiles to it and pulled it out. 165hp x 3 = 495 hp lol
So how much did that heli rescue cost???
How much did that cost! Goodness.
What that cost ???
How much did that heli cost
What does the helicopter cost
Why did they grab a chopper? For a snow mobile he was okay and safe?
Damn this my friend was your lucky day !
the guy in front of you should have waved you off, you could see him looking at it. also its hard to tell if you could have gone over it if you cracked the throtle. i think that comes with experience though. glad to see no one got hurt though.
Its hard to see in the video but the guy in front was waving off, you can always go back to a situation and say you should have done this or that, but when your in the moment you don't always think clearly! :)
Exactly. Who among us can't think back to innumerable situations and thought...if I could do it over, I would choose differently?
sacrad78v9 Exactly what is thinking. When in doubt throttle out. I did almost the same thing but rode out. The other guy should have done a better job warning you though! I can't tell if you were standing or not but you can see that stuff easier if you are standing. Not trying to be a jerk just trying to educate if I can. It's sketchy out there. I've seen quite a bit riding the backcountry of Alaska for 25 years. At least you didn't ride it to the bottom. I'm sure that copter was spendy.
@@mrroboto2009, Hindsight is always 20/20 !!
It woulda been cheaper to go get aboyt 15 people to pull it back up... Glad you made it!
My man had angels in them mountains
How much was that tow bill?????
Gotta admit, I didn't see that one coming. Whenever I get stuck, my last thought is to call in a helicopter! Wouldn't even know where to find one.
Glad you and you’re sled are okay
His friend in front of him drove right past the hole as you can see by his tracks but didn't warn anyone??
how much money did it take for the helicopter to lift that thing out? Seems cheaper to leave it.
That is nuts! The bottom line! Glad knowone was hurt!
That has got to be an expensive day. Anyone have an idea how much?
Heli would be around $1300
What is that a song
What was the tow bill?!!!
How deep is it?
Wonder how much it cost to pull it out with the heli
Prime example of when in doubt throttle out.

Anyone else keep hearing Matt's voice saying, "So we got a call....."?
Probably already asked.......Where was this ? Thanks.
Wow he's so fortunate he didn't fall into the crevasse itself
Soooo, did they put up a warning flag for others to see and avoid the spot?
dang where did you get the budget to have a helicopter show on short notice.
The cost to get the helicopter to fly up and extract the snowmobile was probably more than the snowmobile was worth. 😂
So how do you find a helicopter tow truck? Google one?
