@@Cdmxeidmeimdiexmiexwell, there's...(deep breath) Vampyr, vampire: the masquerade, blood omen, legacy of kain,bloodrayne series, bloodstained series, infamous: festival of blood, code vain, vampire survivors, redfall... Whew. That's just to name a few. Lol
The closest of them to Castlevania would be the Bloodstained series. Curse of the Moon is more old style (8 or 16 bit.. Can't recall off the top of my head), where Ritual of the Night is more like Symphony of the Night with better graphics etc. Hope this helps.

I bought the Turbo Duo and ordered this game from Japan when it launched. Still have it to this day. Looks exactly the same, new condition. The Turbo Duo unfortunately died on me long ago but i can still play it via emulation on my PC. Will always be my all time favorite video game.

@@reincarnatedsoul1341 That's fair. Not everyone has a taste for a classical style of composition, and I feel like that's what they went for in 4, was a more gothic/classical style of sound. Music in general is just a matter of personal preference.
Can we just agree that all of the Castlevania soundtracks are good in their own rights?
Ah the original rondo of blood this is one of the best in the series it was the last to conclude Castlevania classic style before it became Metroidvania and it did a great job 👏 from amazing music to level design and gameplay mechanics to the aesthetics and art style all are superb. The games difficulty isn’t like its predecessor’s its much more easer for newcomers yet offer a decent challenge for them enemies and bosses and traps and the placement of them all play a major part in it
the branching paths that contains different levels with different music you also have other playable character that all increases the replay value
Edit : it seems there are games with the classic play style after rondo
Bloodlines, Dracula X (Different version of rondo), Chronicles (PS1), The adventure rebirth (remake of adventure)
Those are really good games I definitely recommend them if you like the classic Play style also Bloodstained

i actually remember when i learned that a video game can be 'bad'.. which was superman 64. before that the concept of a bad game was not even something i could understand. which you think i would of learned when i played shaq fu... but when i played that i still thought commercials were just small tv shows hehe. i actually remember when i figured out all those small tv shows all had one thing in common, which was they wanted you to buy something. a bit of innocence lost there i guess haha

PC-Engine year 1993 game, from my view, this game is classic and 1 of the best bgm game in 90s, good job konami 👍🏼
This game has so many hidden aspects that you have to find in order to unlock all the levels that it feels cheap. No one would’ve figured this out 30 years ago without buying a guide magazine

@5:28, lol no one ever takes the left secret side (hit the two upper bricks and you can go under this whole area) which will lead you to the watersnake boss.
I actually found the serpent boss first when I was looking for a castlevania game on the PSP and did not know until yesterday that the actual first boss is the wyvern.
Stage 5 looks fire 🔥🔥🔥 I have this game at home I have to end this game one day.
Just got this yesterday and the game is bullying me HARD. Still great though.

@@davidatkins7444 lol I watched this just for that boss battle. The sword keeps hitting me everytime I strike him as it is so long and I didn’t master the jump over the floating head. Going to the right instead of up the stairs when you kill the flea is actually way easier to set yourself up for the final part

So that's why I always thought there was more to the story of Dracula X; it was half translated from Rondo of Blood and I just knew about this one about a year ago or so. Anyway I like more the SNES graphics and music don't know why though

43:00 Annette was given a *special gothic makeover as a Boss* on that chapter in the PSP reboot port should u *fail to rescue her* & the 3 addtional girls with it during this run, not only does she *replace Faust G* but she also is turned into a SuucibiVamp & given some dialonge that depends on if either Ritcher or Maria is present when meeting her. this vanilla port luckly does not include that on here.

How is he able to regain health after entering certain rooms. I noticed his score goes to 00, and there is a "rest" above where the score would go. Is this a mechanic on all versions of the game or only by emulator? I wanted to try and play this with Requiem but don't know if I can rest there too
He just edits out some of the deaths so it's not overly long. I died at least 200 times in my playthrough.
The "Rest 00" just means he has no more lives left before he gets game over. You start with Rest 03 and the rest counter comes up briefly each time you die and come back.
What about the game utilizes the ps5 engine? Like it seems like a 16 bit castlevania game.

I said it before and will say it again, Richter moves better in Rondo of Blood than his clunky version in the PSP remake Dracula X Chronicles

Huh, they used the PC Engine CD version rather than the PSP version for a PS5 release. I wonder if they used the original SOTN or the later re-dub. It's almost like this is Konami's little cash grab pairing for whenever there's a new system. It's not a bad set, it's just that most Castlevania fans have already played them on older systems.
The whole collection is a port of The Dracula X chronicles minus the psp remake, so yes the psp redub is used, that also means the difference in sound effects in sotn and Maria's gameplay are there too.
Oh and this is ps4 backwards compatibility. There's no native ps5 version.
Nah not many people get to play the original rondo of blood what we got is a half assed version called Dracula X
