The main composer for the series, Koichi Sugiyama, was well-known for his work in TV and film soundtracks prior to working in videogames. Back in the late 80s he worked on a symphonic release of the Dragon Quest III soundtrack, which is what every subsequent orchestrated rendition (including DQ8) is likely based on. Maybe deep within him, there was a semblance of light. To create something so heavenly and emotionally moving. When does Veronica play this? I just beat the first part and went back in time and defeated Jasper. Going to the King (he is still possessed) I guess I need to play more. I think I will after this.

The world is ending, your best friend - for all you know - is probably gone, and you're alone, and yet you have *this* music playing. Hope in the darkest times. You literally went to Hell, yet heard and saw Heaven. This is why I love this game so much.

Then when the definitive edition came out on the switch, it was one of the deciding factors for me to get one. Now playing through it again on ps5 just because I love the story and gameplay that much. Will always be a memorable journey. I always thought this song was called the song of awakening. Luckily searching around did not take long to bring me here. Once the scene started again, I finally asked myself why have I not added this to my playlist after all these years.

I just beat this game today as my very first Dragon Quest game. I'll just say, I don't think I could've asked for a better starting point for my adventure into the world of Dragon Quest. Now I'll put the game down for a while (around 2 months) before I start the Tickington quests. After that, time to decide which game to play next.
After beating Timewyrm and getting all trophies, I was back to the flying whale with this song playing, then I cried when I realized it was time to uninstall the game
