Also happened in the match between Tunisia and Mali when the referee ended the match 85 mins in, and then finally 89 mins.
If I recall correctly that guy had a heatstroke, so I would blame it on lack of breaks to cool down during very hot summer.

The 2021 edition of AFCON was a disaster on many points: this and the Mauritanian anthem messup were the the harmless ones, but there were deaths and gunfights. Still memorable, especially the Cameroon-Comoros game

Not really. Although play was interrupted at the beginning of the war, it has already resumed in October 1939. In fact, German championships were played until 1944.

As a German Football fan „Hanover 96“ sound so off in English.
We say 96 as six and ninety. And the club name is so engraved in my brain, the wrong - although way more logical - arrangements of the numbers is super strange.
