The Red Hot Chili Peppers started running around naked at the beginning of Cretin Hop. Lmao. In Johnny's book, he told them they were assholes because of it and they came to his dressing room afterward to apologize. Johnny and John Frusciante would later become good friends.
Johnny didn't want to be upstaged, probably. this show sucked, I'm sorry. at some point, late in their career, they started to get bored., and played too fast, which caused a lot of their best stuff to lose it's power. in the '70's, they were the real deal. here, DEE DEE is messed up on junk, I think. sedated, in other words.
@@tonym994 Agreed, I always hated how fast they played in the later years. Joey can't keep up. If they had stuck with It's Alive speed it would've been perfect, I think they were at their tightest musically with Marky and CJ but the ridiculous speed ruins it
Don Kirchner's 'rock concert' is my fave('77), despite the phony crowd noise he employed on all his shows. they were young and full of piss and vinegar. also, New Year's '77 in England. or was it July 4th?
