The Kahhori episode made me very emotional. As a Native (Navajo), it hit different. Her speech about the others forgetting their origins and being away from the bones of their ancestors might as well as been a message from Diyin Diné'e. Also, the battle at the beach made me actually wonder "What If", not just in terms of comics, but in terms of our real-life history. What If we weren't colonized. The episode is definitely a hit in Indian Country and most of us are happy to see an Indigenous language being used in mainstream media. It's dope that Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs voices Kahhori since she's actually Mohawk as well, and the voice actress that voices her brother is Kiawentiio who is gonna play Katara in the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender. Overall, this is my favorite episode and I can't wait to see Kahhori in live action.

It’s very shallow to say you dont connect with powerful characters. Because you don’t connect with the powers themselves. You connect with the flaws and struggles. As a huge Captain Marvel fan, and as a man, I can applause and be inspired by her fight as a woman but can 100% connect with Carol’s resilience and getting up everytime she’s knocked down. Proving people wrong everytime they doubted her. Her confidence made me strong when I didn’t have a good self esteem. Her mistakes when trying to do good and her stubbornness is also very human and relatable to me.

What makes it shallow? I see your point as someone who was inspired, but you didn’t really get into the lack of depth behind the opposing stance

Now that we got a captain carter episode about the first avenger in season 1, a winter soldier episode in season 2, do you think we’ll get a captain carter version of civil war in a potential season 3, because I’d love to see that.

Phase Gang! 🚀Agree with most of y'all regarding the voice actors. Mick Wingert for sure makes me hear Tony despite not being RDJ, as does Lake Bell for Natasha. But Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie voice sounded weird as all get out in her episode - it felt to me like she needed to listen to some (more?) of her old dialogue to dial in her character a lil’ better. I'd have said it was usually a somewhat British affectation she goes for, but less so here. Rachel Weisz as a moustache-twirling Russian villain was the right kind of silly, but only just! Not sold on Josh Keaton as Steve AT ALL, though.🧐

Sidebar: Jamie tends to be just a lil’ quieter than erryone else of late, I reckon… can that be looked into before the next Jirak Recap, please?! 🙂
