Would this series be better if it wasn't so Earth centered? Seems a bit claustrophobic story telling wise since the MCU as a whole is so large and Loki is only focused on such a small part of it.

I'm pretty much with you. Except I'm apparently the only Episode 2 stan on the planet. The more in-depth character stuff is what's been missing to an extent for me (based on what's been in promo footage but wasn't in the 4 episodes I suspect that's coming in the remaining ones) and Season 1 had this underlying comforting vibe that's not as strong; to put it way too simply/hyperbolically I guess I miss crying every episode? Maybe that's why 2 was my favorite, it was the closest I came to tears at a couple points (it was also the funniest episode IMO).😆

I wanted S1 to be good so bad but it wasn’t imo. Hopefully they can get it right this time around!

I didn’t like S1 as it was slow paced and goofed up his character too much and weakened him. If this is going to be anything like Season 1, then *NO* thanks!
