Zero's clan tag has got me thinking, what if you are actually ADHD but you are on adderall and play in these tournaments? Are you considered an abuser? Or are you considered getting an even ground. This question has be troulbing me because I have ADHD and I don't like thinking I have some "cheater's advantage" that others may not have.
Based on why people are prescribed adhd medication, you shouldn't have any edge because it makes you feel ''normal'' apparently. So, if you don't have the same effects as one who is abusing it for it's focus or performance enhancing properties, it shouldn't be any type of advantage right?
Good question. Short answer is yes, you can still compete in tournaments, at least for now.
Apparently they don't drug test for esports, though they may start in the near future.
To answer the second part of your question, from personal experience, being on adderall when I have no tolerance to it, I do feel its effects quite strong, even being adhd myself. Does it make me better at games, specifically shooters? No idea, but It does cause me to game for longer sessions, not eat, and be more focused on completing tasks then I normally would.
When I'm taking my adderall regularly, I tend to not feel much different from when I don't take it.
I think the general negative stigma is just directed at kids abusing it as a stimulant rather than take it for their medicine.
