  • This has been a highly requested video, my story of how I became a paraplegic. I wrote this monologue for a performance I did in downtown Seattle and thought I would post it on here!

I really glad you acknowledged the things that didn't happen. I feel like there's this expectation that when you become disabled or your condition deteriorates that your supposed to "beat the odds" and "rise above". And usually that's not exactly how it goes. Beating the odds might be getting food from your kitchen by yourself, and the only thing I'm rising above is my bed occasionally

Hi bella💐i dont know how i missed this video but it fully explains why your paralysed from the waist down! Ever since my accident all those years ago it does not take much to have me in floods of tears! I have an irregular heartbeat & diabetes type one,i have to take a host of pills,my legs now swell up & i have lymphoedema which i think once again will require compression bandages! It must have been scary for you blacking out! So if i am reading this right the heart surgery left you paralysed from the waist down? I think i speak for everyone when being in a wheelchair is better than losing your life! My AF(artirial fibrillation) has been quite bad so the doctor had to up my medication,am on blood thinners,i had a blood test thursday & had some abnormal results mainly on the kidney side! Like you i found it helpful to share my story & i will never get fed up hearing your story as i was around your age when my crap started! As i said feel free to ask any questions! One question i did not ask do the doctors expect you to have full control of your bladder once you get your legs working? It is a pain carrying a pee bag around with you thats why a simple thing like a flip flow valve basically a tap you open & close gives you freedom from a bag mainly while your at home or if you are out you can drain your pee in to a bottle or bag & no chance of an accident unless you knock the tap! I hope this tiny tip will help💖💖💖
