其實他當年會紅真的就不是因為他唱的好，而且他帶領了當代年輕人走進了新的時代
尤其是當時剛好是網咖盛行的時期，整個網咖都是他的歌啊..當時那種好幾首他個歌混在一起的聲音都成了一代人的記憶了
他红是他是唱作人 曲都是他自己写的 词 方文山写的
当初唱的的确一般，但功力后来长很多。最关键的是他的歌，在那时，不，在现在也是把其他歌曲甩开了几条街。他的歌声也很有感觉
红是因为创作的歌都容易上口。 他的歌每一首都那么的熟悉

说真的，2000年的设备，这么大的演唱会。唱的稳真的不容易，黑色幽默本来就是跨度很大的歌。很厉害了。

Some people are born to be a legend!
This was Jay's first album, so he put some basic ballad songs accompany with some more new style songs that never heard in Chinese pop music. This album is my favorite Jay Chou album, and I also believe this is one of the best Chinese pop albums of all time. I'll say "娘子" in this album is definitely one of his classics, probably the best of his songs.
Jay Chou is still the greatest of all Chinese Singers. His creativity and he composed all of his songs melody.
黑色幽默 is a song he wrote for another artist. This live version was more of Jay’s way of performing it, usually with some impromptu sounds too.
My personal take is that his songs from concerts or live performances are usually different from the studio version.
And if you want to react to the original productions, music videos are better choices. Just like In The Name of Father - that intriguing storytelling is indeed from the MV.
Having said that, I still want to thank Joe for giving your honest and genuine reaction over the performances 😊
He created the song too hard for himself, that his Live performances suck big time... He is a recorded singer not a Live performer.

Well I’ll say he’s the original mandopop artist itself . After this album, he wrote most hit song of this style for other artists. Not protecting Jay or something, it was just part of him ,and also just like you said, he was also trying different style in the same while. These ballady songs just fit the market in that time.

His music appeared at the right time. The audience of the first few popular albums were students born in the late 80s and early 90s. They have just entered the new century, and they are tired of Chinese music in the past. Jay’s music style is quite empathetic. After that, a phenomenal Chinese music top singer appeared.
Even if he appeared now, he would still be popular. He's like Taylor swift of China.

This is his first album and he’s new to the company at that time. I believe the company didn’t really want to make this album too “Jay” that time as the public might not accept his style. It’s just too new for Asian music in 2000. That’s why most of the songs in this album are more ballady and standardised, cuz it’s safer for the company. FYI actually at that time he had written 50 songs in a rather short period of time (couldn’t rmb how long), and 10 were picked for his first album. He knows how to make many types of music actually, you will have a better idea if you listen more to his music (not only the ones sung by him, but a lot more by other singers). But yes his vocal is not strong enough, he admitted that also haha

That's why he wasn't confident in his stage performance but over the years, he matured as a performer and become the cool successful Jay Chou now! It's his music that I love! ❤

I'm Chinese and I'm a hardcore fan of Jay Chou because his songs are simply unique as compared to other Mandopop singers.
He composed many different styles like Rap, Hip Hop, Latin, soul, cello, guzheng, R&B and a lot more.
I love 星晴。 One of the very first songs of his i listened to. I remember watching the MV over and over again when i was in primary school. I still listen to it sometimes these days at 35😂😂 but agree it is not one of his top notch pieces.
Maybe Joe can make a reaction for all Jay album?🔥🔥🔥

因為台灣歌手的生態是一年要發一張以上專輯，所以需要大量的作品，全創作專輯是很難全部都是高素質的的作品，所以部分作品是比較迎合當把的大眾口味(所謂芭樂歌)，所以就會犧牲掉一些獨特性與實驗性。當然周杰倫本身的音樂專業非常足夠，加上有這個機會接受壓力而精進創作，並在21世紀初吃下整個中國的市場，是一個時代的產物和標吧．

He started out as a composer for other singers, he just ended up singing his own compositions which is how his first album was made. So his first few years, live vocals were a bit rough for him. Jay always considers himself a composer 1st and a singer 2nd. I'm way more into his studio recordings than I am his concerts.

Joe, I do appreciate your interest in Chinese pop music; but instead of just targeting Chinese audiences (most of us do know these singers/songs already), wouldn't it be even better and more meaningful if you could promote the Chinese pop music to other western/non-Chinese audiences too ?

Lol why will u pick like his very first concert? The first album was supposed to be songs he wrote for other artistes and some of which are female artistes. His best songs are in his 3rd to 6th album. U should listen to 夜曲。When the song was out, there was a phrase 夜曲一响上台领奖。It meant once the song is played, he need to go up to the stage to get his award. His iconic styles are Chinese style, Rap with classical european style etc. The 2 songs u picked were very typical Mandopop songs. Not what defines Jay Chou.

因为方文山，他的歌是词好过曲。他超强的节奏感在华语歌坛应该是数一数二的，但是在嘻哈遍地的西方音乐也没什么的大不了。至于唱功声音很一般，高音太过单薄，没有王力宏浑厚。

周杰倫的情歌其實沒什麼好re的，本來情歌裡討論創作技巧就很煞風景，不如re 將軍，亂舞春秋，逆鱗 這類的歌～
現實比較骨感，剛出道必須迎合市場，唱唱芭樂歌，紅了以後才有本錢追求自己想做的音樂。
看看spotify上播放量对比，只能说周杰伦团队的商业决策是正确的
