It is allot more than being a fast processor, it it about *being prepared.*
In an interview, Joe Montana was asked _"how do you keep so cool."_
Joe responded _"you know when you take a test and you studied, then the test is easy as you know all the answers."_
_"I spend so much time studying, so I know where all the players are and know the defense, then it becomes easy."_
Brock Purdy, especially being the last pick in the 7th round and Tom Brady who was a 6th rounder, know they have to give everything to their position, because they were not drafted to be the starter.
They were drafted to be the backup or backup to the backup like Purdy.
This is also why so many 1st and 2nd round quarterbacks fail or don't live up to the expectations - as many feel entitled and do the hard work.
Had Purdy or Brady had a bad game or 2 for whatever reason, both would be out of football.
You don't keep 6th & 7rd quarterbacks, as they are dispensable. Actually that is true in all the positions, but more on the quarterback.

Steve Young - Brock is not as big, not as fast and not as strong. Kittle talked about how strong he is last week. And Larry did a good job saying how quick he is.

I love Steve Young, but I wonder if he's actually watching the games. He kind of has a backhanded compliment towards Brock Purdy.

How come nobody is mentioning his accuracy and his touch? Which would you rather have arm strength or touch in your throes? Is Jay Schrader in the NFL Hall of Fame?

I tried a month or so ago to find out what Steve Young's 40-yard dash and 10 yard split were but I couldn't. Which do you think is more important for a quarterback 40-yd dash or 10 yd split?

Brock has 6yrs of getting better barring catastrophic injury....that's an eternity in the NFL....he's obviously a determined individual with a particular skill set...I don't believe his successes were a flash in the pan....here's to a new season!!!

He didn't say Purdy is elite. He said he has elite processing skills.

Yeah you go look at the comment section and people are losing there minds without actually listening to what he said. The only thing people have on purdy is the weapons argument you never hear anybody actually come out and say what they don't like about his game and if they do its all he throws is checkdowns which definitely isn't true.
