I think there’s 2 types of camping. There’s camping where you’re going to have a good time and you bring lots of good food, comfy chair and comfy pillows and blankets and games for entertainment. And then there’s backpacking where you only bring necessities and the trip is your entertainment. The more you go the more you’ll learn what you need!
Good on you for giving it a try! I hope you do go camping again, it really is such a wonderful activity once you are confident

A friendly piece of advice - a good quality sleeping bag is so much more compact than the two blankets you brought with you and equally as warm. Definitely recommend purchasing one if you go again
As someone who loves camping and been on multiple week long camping trips, the best camp sites are the ones where you can just drive up to it and set up without having to haul everything for miles haha It sounds like you really could have benefited from a proper backpacking set up. Pulling a wagon sounds like such an pain. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it! But at least you got the experience haha! Hearing your story makes me wanna go camping lowkey 😭

I wouldn’t go camping ever again. Actually, I have been camping in 12 years and will never do it again. One bad trip in the woods is enough. Good grief. Ur so funny!!
