  • I don't typically do CZcams reviews or things of that nature so my apologies in advance if I talk too fast or don't touch all the subjects. I'm not looking to make money on CZcams. just wanted to share my experience in hopes of helping someone else if they have questions about this cabinet.
    If I missed anything, feel free to ask questions in the comments. happy to help.

    I took a chance on them too. However, most of the bad reviews I’ve heard revolve around either damaged parts in shipping or service on the Pi/image/roms. Through a lot of trial and error of falling into the hobby, I made my own Recalbox image with just the games I wanted (so I had no need for the GRS image/pi he supplies. These companies would have so much less of a headache if they stopped including the games).
    As for the mid size cabinet I bought, it turned out really nicely. But the cam lock system sucks and it’s a pain to put together, and a few things here and there had to be done (has to sand down the plexiglass corners on the control panel, as the corners were SHARP).

    • @GgAcE
      @GgAcE  Před 2 lety

      As a follow-up, I did receive a second unit with a golden tee theme. Came out GORGEOUS. I had no issues with that one either. I have since upgraded this one to the wolfonoz 12k image. It wasn't that the other image was bad (it was amazing). It was that I wanted a bit more lightgun support.

    That is a sweet panel very nostalgic. How wide is the control panel? Wanting to purchase the full size 4 player arcade cab, with the modern "air carrier" panel. I think that one measures 48 inches wide. I really prefer this shape over the modern since I don't need to add pinball buttons. Wonder if they are able to add this one to their 4 player cab.

    Hi,
    Everything looks great! I like how you reinforced it with the brackets. I can see how you might wantvto add more hinges. Question. If I didn't want to use the Pi4 would one be able to unplug the usb for the control deck from the Pi4 and plug it into a computer so you can get more games and be able to expand it more?

    • @GgAcE
      @GgAcE  Před 2 lety

      Great question! The system offered from GRS comes with some very basic encoders. From my experience, they are either not compatible or didn't work for me as intended. Should you want to go the PC route, the suggestion would be to look up the I-PAC4 encoders found on the ultimarc website. Those will be the best bang for your buck on a PC built 4 way cab. Hope that helped a little.

    • @gregwalzel7504
      @gregwalzel7504 Před 2 lety

      @@GgAcE Thanks for the quick response. I figured that was the case. I wanted something reasonably priced that is already wired for me. So, maybe the easiest and most cost effective way would be to just get this, an ipac4 and rewire it? I already have the computer. Just need the pedestal.
      I would love to get one already done from one of those other companies but they are so darn expensive!

    • @GgAcE
      @GgAcE  Před 2 lety

      @@gregwalzel7504 their customers service was really good to me on both builds. Honestly, you may want to reach out and see if they have a wired solution for you. I know they do both DIY kits and full installed so perhaps they can tweak the build for your needs and ditch the pi4.

    Just watch your video. Does player 3-4 comfortably there. Seems they are to close to player 1-2. And also is it better to have the player 3 and 4 on an angle?
    Thanks

    • @GgAcE
      @GgAcE  Před 4 měsíci

      @kukaratza I have had zero issues with 4 adults playing on this cab since players 3 and 4 are never used for serious fighting games or anything like that. The angle works great for the Simpsons, X-Men, etc.
      For me, no issues at all.
