I had the Peanuts lunchbox, shown at 7:06, when I was in 1st and 2nd grade. Funny how when I think about it all I can smell is bologna sandwiches!

The dividing lines were clear. Hot lunch kids, lunch box kids, and the brown baggers. Life was hard when you were 10.

I had the Disney school bus lunchbox and still have it. I kept my Matchbox cars in it! Also while cleaning out my mom's house I found the thermos for The Flintstones, which I have kept. It was really cool to see it after all these years. Not sure what happened to the lunchbox though.

Remarkable what we used to take our school lunch with us as kids back in the “stone age.”

Ahh I remember in 4-5th grade we’d have a marker down the hall from our classroom door and we would slide our lunch pails to see who could get closest without over shooting or having the thermos pop out! The good old days…

I had the yellow "Play Ball" lunch box at 6:05. It had a game board on the back and came with magnetic game pieces.

The first and only one I had was in the first grade! It was a metal Snoopy on his doghouse that was a barn shaped design where the thermos was in the top. Kinda cheaply made for kids because the hinge on it was a piece of wire that tabs on the box wrapped around and eventually they would come apart! Haha!

I had a Dr Doolittle lunch box. It was quite a feat get one because my 1960s Salt Lake City school did not have a lunchroom so all the kids went home for lunch every day.

Vintage lunchboxes are like sports trading cards these days, the rare ones fetch the best prices. 💰

I had a Roadrunner lunch box, and my brother had a Peanuts lunch box.
A neighbor girl had a Bugaloos lunch box.
I wish I had them nowadays. Probably worth some money to collectors.

I remember having a red lunch box with Snoopy on it, and a blue one with Barbie on it.

I used to carry my lunch inside a drab painted metal ammo box that contained a rubber gasket inside the lip of the removeable hinged locking cover with integrated metal handle. My very own Government Issue. It bared the markings from being used on the battle field that I purchased from an Army Surplus store in Schaumburg, IL in 1983. I used to get some strange looks from shoppers and employees at thr retail store where I worked seen with my conversion to wonder what I was packing inside?

Imagine having a portable mess kit handy. Wish back then Mom could have packed an M.R.E. And freeze dried ice cream sandwhiches. And a thermos shaped like an ordinance shell with shiney copper topped nose cone twist on cap cup.

Still carry a metal Stanley one to this day, if it was good enough for President Truman and Grandpappy, good enough for me.
