    What an engaging demonstration of such a compelling product! This really makes me want to get an electronic drumkit.

    The TD7 is great. I don't care about the actual drum set with the pads. I use the sound module with my RA50 arranger and my MC50 and I enjoy it almost every day. Got an Octapad II as well, and sometimes I play it with my TD7. I am amazed that the synth community is not even remotely aware of that piece of gear.

    Wow !!!!
    In recent years I really got into electronic drums !
    I bought the TD17kvx, then I wanted better feel on the snare drum, so I got the TD27 Module and the digital snare.
    I really want the digital hi-hat's and ride, but they're really expensive...lol
    Definitely getting them when they come down in price.
    I can't believe how good this TD7 set is !!!!!
    I was on Wikipedia looking at the history of Roland modules and saw that the TD7 looked like their first module if that graph is correct.
    It says it was made in 1992, so I looked up videos to hear how it sounds and reacts, and I'm blown away by how good this module is !!!!!
    I thought it was gonna sound like pork and have tons of machine gunning and Casio style sounds...
    Hehehehehehe
    Boy was I wrong !!!!!
    If I see this module for sale, I'd probably get it just for all the cool sounds, and to own a part of history !!!!
    The band in the video was excellent too, and this drummer is fantastic and such a diverse player.
    I really enjoyed this entire video !
    Thanks !!!!!
    👍😁👍

    I got a TD-7 a few years ago, it's a great drum module even if it's around 30 years old. It took some time but now I fully understand how to set this up. The factory settings are bullsh*t to be honest, spent a few hours to change it to my needs and now it's sounding great :)

      Thank you for ur comment. I was wondering how old this drum set is based on these folks hair and dress style and you just answered exactly what I thought. 30 yrs would make sense with those hair styles

    I've recently hooked my td7 to my Garage band via a MIDI -usb converter.
    I use the garage band sounds and record myself. I'm not sure if I'm just a shocking player or sometimes the triggers are a bit slow but geewhiz ... Lol other then that I don't mind the kit but the pads are a bit hard.... My hands hurt after using the kit

    subbed - could you possibly help me with a question i have for my recently purchased TD-7?
    I want to record but am not sure which output to use. currently using the Headphone jack to output to my amp for practice but uncertain if thatll work for recording =/

    • @Brak0777
      @Brak0777  Před 2 lety

      You can take it from the R-output-L in the back of the module. This may affect some of the sounds because of how they have them set up in stereo left and right. You could go just out one side or the other and then go into your settings and set your sounds all the way to the left channel or the right channel. You can also take the output out of the headphone jack however I think that's the weakest link when it comes to that.

    • @welderlust8293
      @welderlust8293 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Brak0777 ive been using the aux (headphone output)
      To my spider 3 amp - I tweaked the sound levels on individual pads and it actually sounds great.
      I guess im wondering if, since i gave it EQed for the headphone output, should i just stick with that?(given the quality holds up once sent)

    • @Brak0777
      @Brak0777  Před 2 lety +2

      I am pretty practical and feel “If it works, stick with it.” For me, I just have some concerns regarding the durability of those mini jacks. They tend not to like much stress on them. Have a great time with it. It is a fun module to play with.

      @@Brak0777 Have you tried the TD-7 edit program yet? It's really good and makes editing the TD-7 a lot easier. It's an old program and requires to be set with just the right compatibility settings to get it to work with modern windows.

    • @TheFrancoprincipe
      @TheFrancoprincipe Před rokem

      I use the midi out and run it into Garage Band. I record myself using that. I've used the L and R outputs when I've done it into a desk with the band. That works well too

      @Brak0777  Před rokem

      This is actually quite a versatile module. I really liked that you could do sound layering on each pad. For instance, for the snare drum, I would make the "loose snare" patch the first sound and then a harder /cracking sounding snare sound come through as you hit harder. I loved that feature.

  • @pfkmsandiego
    @pfkmsandiego Před rokem

    2:37 in and i already caught some bullshit hahaha. no snare hit. are they all just playing over prerecorded midi drum tracks and the drummer is sort of lip-syncing, for lack of better words? like, he doesn't have to b perfect bc they're just 'gonna use the pre recorded drums. i wonder how many other shenanigans i'll spot...

    • @laptoples
      @laptoples Před rokem

      I'm sure that was just a video audio lag, or they REALLY spent weeks if not months on a hoax that ummm, I can't imagine doing.
      For what ???
      LOL
      Makes no sense.

    • @laptoples
      @laptoples Před rokem +1

      I just went back and watched more over again because of your comment...
      This would go down in history as the most well executed hoax in history...lol
      There's absolutely no way they fudged anything in this video.
      Even if they did it today with AI, I don't know if they could have come this close...
      Haaaaaa
      This is old, and those parts are too intricate.
      Again, why would a bunch of professional musicians and whoever worked on this cable access level video spend the insane amount of effort to make a hoax video...lol
      I can't imagine the amount of takes it would take to do something of this level of perfection.
      Month's of takes to get it this good...lol
      Anywho, I don't want anyone else to think this, so I had to object to something that silly and tinfoil hat, to go unquestioned.

      @@laptoples i'm not saying the drummer isn't amazing bc he is but for budgets it's common to pull bs like what i'm describing. i caught other perts too. they most likely took multiple takes and the stuff i caught was just visually a different take but the sound had already been captured and they laid that over the final film. great upload none the less. :)
