- In another big NASCAR weekend in Chicago NASCAR made a major announcement and unveiling with their new EV prototype. This is not for any new or existing series but is a stepping stone to the possible future of NASCAR racing overall.

NASCAR gave us an EV Prototype before GTA VI
There must be a rule somewhere that says any vehicle designed as an EV has to look like the ugliest, frankstein version of a normal car.
I honestly think NASCAR should move more towards the Garage 56 Prototype. Hybridization would bring a lot of people together. You get the benefit of the big V8 and the added power of electrification. Innovative and AWD NASCAR could be pretty wild. They'd just stick to the road and go!

The Prototype is quite groundbreaking, but I don't think EV racing will ever have the same impact that many other racing series have had for decades. The racing product can be great, but the noise of the cars are part of what make them and the sport attractive
My question is why do they have a giant wing on the back? Did nobody learn from the Car of Tomorrow?
One: this thing is eerily similar to a TCR car.

Two concerns:
Electric cars have so much torque, I feel like you’d really have to drive the car or you would just kill the tires so that would be interesting and the variations in tire wear along with the extra horsepower would be crazy
This is just NASCAR keeping up with the times. I HIGHLY doubt they’ll replace any of the top series with electric vehicles ANYTIME soon, if ever. At most this will be its own series.

The prototype looks like a hatchback/SUV so it can be a Blazer, Mach-E, Toyota RAV4 Prime or bZ4X, etc.
