I wish this was on Spotify, he changes his live performances of this up all the time. He leaves out the high note in the audio (god knows why!?) then on the X Factor he only hit the high note once. Personally the best ending on this song in regards to his vocal ability and his range in on his live performance of this on the Capital Jingle Bell Ball.
That being said, I have fell in love with this and would put this performance on top compared to the others. He always makes me cry 😢

When you sound better live than in the studio speaks volumes about a persons pure raw talent. Not all artist can pull this off. James can and this makes him unique and special. It puts him above all the artist. J can sing any song of any genre and kill it. He has a beautiful, strong and unique voice. His ability to sing every song with such raw emotions and conviction puts him above all other vocalist in the world! He is a vocal genius. His artistry is perfection! His onset, offset, runs, phrasing, range of octaves level and ability to maneuver his vocals in and out between lyrics is perfection at its best. The raw emotions he demonstrate when singing any song is so unique and special. Very few vocalist can draw emotions and make you feel what they feel. James is a master at this. He deserves all the awards in the world. The people who vote dislike, are not listening or know nothing about vocal strength and ability. Im so surprised that he is not known more around the world because he is one of the best vocalist in the world. Love you James, keep singing and creating. ❤️🇺🇸😘

The reason why James Arthur sounds better live is because he has a natural deep raspy voice and has crisp highs. Auto tune makes him sound artificial and flat and takes away emotion in his voice that projects little nuances of deep emotion. His control has improved greatly and he looks so comfortable in his performance. The dude is just natural talent. I am glad he isn’t as big as he should be, big fame can ruin people. Edit : Check out Dermot Kennedy, young and free is a great song, sounds a bit like james. Dermot representing our fellow Irish :)

The first time I listened this song I was feeling so much pain for somebody who didn't deserve me and I didn't know it in that moment. Now I know it and I can listen this song remembering all of that pain I felt, it was the best thing that could be ever happened to me. And it's true: we couldn't make anybody else love us.

My life so far has been mostly pain free emotionally and physically. Full of happiness, love and stability. Grew very sheltered, married the same guy I'd loved since I was 15. Never did any form of drugs. Don't drink. Never been to a party besides family events, don't even have a tattoo BUT the feelings of pain, lost, heartbreak and lots more that James evoke in me whenever he sing are soo real😭. This hurts beautifully.
