a little new to collecting hot toys. I've been getting acrylic display cases but I'm thinking of investing in a shelf. Any recommendations? your's looks great. and can't wait to get my lighting after watching your video
Welcome to the hobby! Display cases are pretty solid until you flesh out how you want your space to be. Although, my only issue with acrylic is how much it attracts dust and particles in the space. As far as recommendations, it's tough.
If Detolf's were still around for a reasonable price, I'd say jump on those, but it depends on space and how much you'd like to spend. How big is your collection? How often do you plan to add to it?
I've been aiming to figure out how to use Cync brand color-changing light strips for my cases, but I’m no electrition so I've been hesitant to cut them to the right length and rewire them. I already use that brand for everything else in my apartment, and color variety per shelf would be amazing
The Luke Lights look like a great option if those don't work out, and the brackets will be perfect for either!
Yeah, I'm the same way as you. When it comes to anything that will burn my house down I tend to stick to the people who know what they're doing, lol! It's something I'd like to learn at some point though on a smaller scale with LED lights. I agree with color variety though, I feel like it would be expensive, but awesome for more control in the space!
Absolutely! They look even better in the night time all lit up. I will say though, I think the brackets would be an awesome choice if you did want to do your own lighting. Maybe it's because I didn't have the exact tools to cut mine neatly, but damn they look good.

New lighting is definitely an upgrade 👌🏻 personally I prefer the cooler light as opposed to the warmer look, but yeah that’s just my subjective opinion! Either way you’re display look fantastic. Can I ask, what is the size of the dust proofing stuff you use? Do you have a link? Great video as always mate 👍🏻
It's growing on me in terms of cooler lights for skin toned figures. I think I get so use to controlling the temperature in my space, I'd love the option to do so here too. Looks great though nevertheless! The sizing I use is 0.35 x 0.35. I was able to squeeze out one Detolf per $9.49 bag of weather-stripping. Eventually you'll have a bit more left over the further you go if you dust-proof the whole unit. Here's a link to them from Amazon here in the states: amzn.to/3EbgyOP

I need your help.i use detolf units. Well. It is SIMILAR. Same dimensions. They have no frame. And also have clearer glass. And each shelf is still glass. How can I darken each shelf? So that every layer has a different lighting set up. Contact paper????

I had these lights for about 2 years and most of them turned yellowish after a while and they weren't even on that often.
Will the Luks light what in the Blaliden cases?

Now… I got some questions about your Plo Koon figure! If you don’t mind of course.
I saw some on Amazon and bought them because I though they looked good! I Yet I was was sent some RGB version and it was nothing like what was pictured, lol! I still have it somewhere in the closet come to thin about it. At least with Luke Lights I felt like what was pictured was what I got in hand. Talk about throwing $35 to the wind though, but glad you got yours!
I don't mind answering any questions about anything. No reason to hide anything when it comes to toys. 😄 - Although, If it's about how I kit bashed him, I was going to provide a run down in the room tour! 👀
@@BostonCollectors Oh man! I’ve had that happen with other Amazon orders… that’s a bummer sorry dude! Ya I did get mine and they worked great. I am also a stickler and was able to hide the cables. Only downside is the way the ones I have are wired I could not zig zag and had to run Individual wires for each strip. But no big deal.

@@Gosling_dkc Same reason I had to take over an hour to fix my dust-proofing, lol! Ended up settling, but such is life. Ahhhh, I've seen those versions a while ago, I'm familiar with those.

@@BostonCollectors Oh dude the dust proofing is a PAIN! But when done right it’s great and serves 2 purposes. Dust proofing obviously. lol. But also helping to hide the cables.
So basically, I just wanted to know what body you used to swap to if any. And what Jedi robes. I have access to a Plo figure still sealed and have been wanting him but I’d have to upgrade him a bit. His head sculpt looks great from what I’ve seen in photos though!
@@Gosling_dkc So, because of the neck joint on Plo Koon, I had to find a body that would be able to allow for extra space for his neck since it's seamless. I went with the Two-Face 2.0 body from Hot Toys and it worked! However, I had to buy a set of neck adapters from eBay that would work on the peg inside of the chest. The pain of it all was taking out the old neck joint to replace it. It ended up working, but that was a WHOLE task and a half, lol!
I also mixed some of the robes from other characters, but I have a final vision of that I have to wait for. So right now, He's using Qui-Gons boots, pants, undershirt and belt. I also have him suited in his own Tabards and top shirt that came from Sideshow's release.
However, with Mace Windu on the come up soon, I may end up buying the boots, shirt, undershirt and tabards from his release. It'll require some dye to get the color I'm after, but I'll have to wait and see. Maybe even the robe since the one I bought was pretty short from Obi-Wan's release.
