    I like the training sticks for alignment. They show me that I am always aiming left with my feet. Together with a tension free grip in hands and arms and allowing my left heel to move on my backswing has improved my score. Great idea.👍

    I finally cured my slice and it was a combo of things that allow me to hit long straight drives. I move my right foot back. I play the ball back. And I play the ball further from me so I have to lean to it. As well, I move my right hand clockwise on the grip. It works!

    Dave I must say it is great to view your videos. Unlike many other You Tube instructors you don,t give the old waffle of how many years you have been playing, how many years you have been teaching and how many lessons you have given over your time as a Pro. Just straight forward, clear and precise "tips" on how to play the game and rectify faults. Most of us take these lessons to heart and try to observe them when playing or on the range, that is with the exception of Liam but I just assume he is ignorant of any advice and just works on promoting his videos as just fun loving golf with friends. His loss I say. Thanks Dave for your free time

    I went with a mate to driving range yesterday I haven’t played golf in many years I hit with his driver about 165 to 185 yards but was bending so much to the right I swapped to his 5 iron and was hitting nice straight shots but only 125-135 yards so I preferred losing distance for accuracy personally but I’d like to hit longer and straighter obviously if I decide to take up the sport and buy a few cheap clubs just to start me off so hopefully videos help :)

    Brilliant, Dave. My instructor had me doing this same headcover drill the last time I saw him a few weeks ago. He even had me take my address position, then took an alignment stick and placed it on TOP of my trail elbow, and UNDERNEATH the lead elbow, to get me feeling what it should feel like having that right elbow lower than the left.

    Excellent video as always. I will use the alignment sticks the next time I practice driving. Your point about keeping it simple is one I’ll use, we all try and smash the driver as hard as we can. Your point about working on technique is one I’ll use because if the basics are not right forget about practicing.

    Great advice Dave 👍 I've given this advice to many but they just can't commit on the course, alright in a driving range atmosphere but once that left to right wind hits them on the 1st tee they automatically aim left again, perhaps I could tell them about tucking the right elbow in next time 👍

  • @bobmac004
    @bobmac004 Před 9 měsíci

    The reason you slice is because you throw at the top and come out to in with an open clubface. The easiest way to fix this is to strengthen the grip so the clubface is square to the out to in swingpath. That will of course cause you to hit it straight left. After a few straight pulls left on the range, aim RIGHT. That will square up your swingpath and with the improved grip square up ball flight. Yes, you are still hitting a pull but because you aim right, the pull goes straight. The beaty of this, is you make just 2 changes at set up...1. aim right...2. Tweak the grip. Then let the swing go where it wants to go...straight.
