- These stories will have you craving, or avoiding, a cup of coffee. In 2021, a Starbucks drink called “The Edward” went viral and drove baristas crazy. In 2016, the new craze was a $90 cup of coffee. At the time, it was the most expensive cup of joe in the world. In 2019, a flight attendant shared why she wouldn’t recommend drinking coffee and tea on airplanes. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

The problem isn’t the complicating drinks, it’s the people who come in and order them in a huge line of people then get mad when they have to wait and then everyone else gets mad bc they also have to wait so then they take it out on us like it’s our fault

Have you worked in the food industry?? Making an actual drink is not hard but what is hard is dealing with rude customers and a rush hour .

Maybe Starbucks should have a self serving setup kind of like a buffet setting. That way you can get what you want and they can have the machine leave a dot under your cup to mark your ingredients and the cashier can just ring it up.
Might be a good idea cause they gotta figure out a new way to be more efficient, sometimes the line is so long that I won’t even attempt to wait in it
I remember a set up of an ice cream shop like that... You choose and pick your own toppings, you mix it yourself through a machine, then the only thing a personnel will see you is when you'll go to them to purchase what you mixed

Man, the Edward sounds good with natural bananas, but all that caramel and stuff - no thanks! The black coffee looks really interesting, I wanna try that!!! The $90 coffee was willing to try, until learning the secret ingredient... And I was kinda expecting to see that little kitten pull that mug down in his face, and it'd be like "I'm Awake!"
And never been interested in airline coffee. I just love cafe Cubano and Italian double espresso. For traditional coffee pot coffee, it has to be freshly grounded and brewed to perfection.
Just go buy the ingredient online and brew it yourself (if you have the tools).

Worked at Starbucks for a couple years and honestly it doesn’t sound difficult to make. The only thing is 5 bananas with the rest of the ingredients won’t fit in the cup. Lots of waste.

My problem with “The Edward” is that it should only require one banana for flavor. Philz coffee has a nice iced coffee for summer called “The Rose”. It comes in decaf too. And no I don’t work for them.

Starbucks is a joke. When it first came out, I tried a regular cup of black coffee. Besides it being expensive, it is highly overrated. IMO, 711, McDonalds, Jack in the Box have better black coffee.

I just order a standard cappucino and I get stressed having to wait for someone B4 me getting a complex order like this so our 7/11 have good quality coffee cappucino machines where I just pay $1 and they coffee is good.........I don't have to pay for a server or the guy in front of me ordering something really complex that I miss my train ride.

I love coffee so much that I wake up and drink it all day then switch to decaf all night so I can sleep and do that everyday, nothing but coffee and a couple bottles of water to keep hydrated lol
