CRAZY TAKEOFF PORTUGAL AIR FORCE C-295 At Madeira Airport 14.03.2020

After a medical rescue from Porto Santo, the FAP (Portuguese Air Force) CASA C-295 went back to the base but offering the spotters a spetacular takeoff, with a steep vertical climb followed by a sharp turn right, before levelling in direction to PXO
The plane registration is 16708

Thanks so much mate, crazy pilots out there!! They just made an MEDVAC from Porto Santo Islands, close to Madeira, and then left empty back to the base in PXO.
The takeoff was so Cool!

It's not an Alenia C-27 Spartan (although it's cool too)... it's a C-295M from CASA/EADS

Yes, it was in fact a quick lift. That is maybe why the props are still kept in service, they would not need a perfect and long runway.
And they are easy to fly, and this guys master this plane 🤟🤟🤟

Cracking video I saw an American Herc do something similar, they called it the Hanoi manoeuvre or something like that. Comes in high dives towards the runway push the cargo out the back with out even stopping take off gain speed and the pull up sharply, supposedly reduces their exposure to ground fire when flying into hot zones, the military guys always like to put on a show. :-)
