Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be
banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine
and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027
on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any
longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime...
Source? I am having difficulty finding proof that the EU will do a straight up ban on classic cars. In fact, I even found an article about Germany rejecting such a plan. It seems to be similar to the US in that by 2030 all BRAND NEW cars will no longer be petrol powered. And just like the US, it’s just for cars. Meaning, odds are good that trucks, and possibly even vans (too lazy to confirm for each country) will still be sold. This just means that more people will end up buying those instead until they finally decide that an EV is right for them.
Places like CA, and such, aren’t banning petrol stations. Instead, they have passed legislation preventing new ones to open. As more and more people drive EVs, the need for gas stations become less, and many who do not adapt to the changing market will go out of business. You can’t just straight up say one per town, because then you’d end up with thousands of people in line needing to get gas, just as you cannot force everyone into buying an EV without having them be able to charge. Many classic car owners already drive longer distances several towns over to get special grade fuel. All this means is that more classic car owners will eventually be forced into doing the same, and that’s simply due to demand. There isn’t some magic switch that will be flicked on at 2035. It is a process, an automotive evolution. And besides, many farm equipment will still require fuel. They can’t exactly go electric.
