My dad was a welder, I was a welder my grandson is a welder and I have been around welders and iron workers all my life. My eyes sorta left me as did the trade a few years ago. I miss it. Said all that to say this. Probably the best rod burner and technique I have ever seen. Makes me want to be young again and start all over
Thanks man
I make no distinction between what you do and what a virtuoso musician does, both take years and years of dedication and practice, both are an absolute joy to watch and hear and I will never be as 1/100th as good as either!!! You are a true master. Thank you for sharing your skills with us.
Nicely put...,
I find myself thinking the same on his work..., just can’t quite describe it like you did...
@@greggb1416 i am thinking the same could not put it better joy to watch
...YOU SUMMED IT UP PERFECTLY-!!!
... *as* 1/100th *as* good *as* either...
Wtf is your spacebar programmed to paste as?
its nice, but a pretty big false equivalancy. its not right to compare a spark monkey to a classically trained musician.
I am a self taught scrap welder of 8 decade of age and you sir are a champion of your craft so pleased to watch your work. You would be surprised to know that I have picked up a lot of tips from you . thanks so much
Good health to you, sir.
An excellent example of if we keep an open mind regardless of experience we are never to old to learn new or better ways. Basically proof that an old dog can still learn new tricks.
Why would it surprise a trained professional to learn an uneducated amateur gleaned something from their excellent, narrated demonstration?
Watching a craftsman craft at a high level is amazing. My man is making clean cuts and stacking dimes in the middle of service yards and equipment operation areas.
I'm not a welder, will probably never weld something, but I love your videos! People who are good at their craft make it look easy (but I know it isn't).
That’s the definition of a master craftsman. Isaac is blessing us by sharing knowledge, tips & tricks. And of course a master welder to bring it all together!
@@RuthlessMindset68 Agree 💯%
@@RuthlessMindset68 Not forgetting that this sort of video is one of the benefits of CZcams and the internet.
There's something extremely satisfying about watching a craftsman work his magic..
But to watch his video you realize the right way to do it.. The tricks and the standards of welding..
As the saying goes, “That’s not going anywhere!”
I really like those torch-holding machines. They provide a beautiful cut.
VERY well done. Where were these videos, when I was learning to weld ? It took years to teach myself. I was pretty good, but you guys today have taken the trade to a new level. Your videos give me a new respect for rig welders. Keep up the good work and train the world. We are all watching. Thnx.
I’m 25 and have had my rig for 8 months. Just started gouging thanks to watching You. One of the only Gus in the area who does it now. Thank you!
Right on
@@ICWeldIssac back in 83 my instructors showed us when cutting coupons on a bevel to align preheat flames , in the kerf for a smoother cut , I was thinking you mentioned it before . ☝️✌️🙏💪🖖 , 👍😎🤔
This is a man who is willing to pass down the knowledge he has to all of us and honestly there are not too many men like him out there, so thank you sir for these tips they sure will come in handy.
If you do this everyday in a production environment it is relaxing to watch someone that gets variety. Watching someone that
does it well makes it even better. My crew is working right now and it is 15 degrees and falling all cutting, welding, gouging
and grinding. Three of us are sitting in a unheated construction trailer on a break watching you on CZcams, I have to say nice repair lol.
Haha, thanks man.
Those cuts are like machined surfaces, it does not get any better than that. A truly skilled man, with great humility. Stay safe I.C.
I have worked for and with some good fabricators, later took a few semesters of welding at a community College (mainly to get access to the welding shop and toys for my own projects! Taught myself how to TIG there lol), read the books, watched lots of videos, and somehow after 25 years, today was the first time I heard about making sure the oxygen spike was longer than the metal is thick...
I used and ignored pressure charts for tip size and metal thickness, but this is like an earth shattering piece of wisdom that just makes sense! Lol
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. When I see that kind of metal fatigue I think about the other people on the road. That crack could have been gouged and welded before It got that bad. I really appreciate seeing your work.
Yes, it is a worry that it wasn't inspected more carefully.
Great video I used a traveling torch back in the early 70s at the coal mine I worked at they sure are helpful when cutting a lot of heavy metal accurate you do a great job it takes me back to my repairing mine equipment days I spend a lifetime in a coal mine and I'm paying dear for it these days after five spinal surgeries and a back full of titanium you stay safe and keep up that high caliber work
Oh man, sorry to hear that. Thank you for the support and I'm glad you enjoy them.
I am a 30 plus year industrial fabricator/welder. Running my own small mobile and shop company. Thankful that I was taught by true mature craftsman such as yourself. I take pride in doing a job well. But watching your videos. I sometimes wonder if I know anything at all. Please keep up the good work.
Super slick cutting! That was another prime example of your step-by-step methodology of repairing a very complicated piece of equipment. Nice job!
How is that level of finesse even possible, just wow, no wonder the customer was happy, he’s blessed to have found you 🙏
Always find it amazing how precise & surgical the air-arc gouging is. Have seen other videos that use that technique for removing material around a weld & find it quite impressive. The track cutter is another nice piece to have at your disposal.
I remember making cuts like this with a rail torch years ago in my boiler making days it was always so satisfying .....I always love to watch you work brings back great memories for me and the quality you put into your work is wonderful. I enjoy your videos short or long either way is ok with me just enjoy watching you work and the different projects are always cool. I don't know what I would do without your channel thank you for all your video's !!👍👍
That was some brilliant work! I've yet to flame cut past 1". I thought it was very cool to see you get excited over how well that radius came out. It's pleasing to see that even someone of your expertise still gets a thrill with a job well done. And in this instance, beautifully done!
Thanks for posting this and congratulations on a great job!
DUDE!!!! I love this style of video. I just really enjoy hearing your in sights about whats going on and why you did a thing. Even when there is a mess up, you show it.
Beautiful work I have two brothers that are blacksmith / fabricators and two sons that are fabricators that have done pipe work in powerhouses ,,, definitely sweet bit of welding ,,
As usual, really a great job!!!! Using the tractor torch arm to burn the curve is something I've never seen before. and I've been around the work a very long time... It still requires your skill in torch set up, and a very steady, experienced hand on the torch feed... As I've said before, I 've never a craftsman as skilled and creative on the burning side... I'll bet the customer was really happy, now hopefully the other side won't break...!!!
I used a track torch for over 40 years, but I’ve never seen this done either!
I’ve tried to figure out why I love and look forward to your uploads so much and I guess it always comes back to your skills knowledge and everything done in a calm never rushed and very professional manner. Watching you use the gas axe or torch is how I imagine watching some of the masters paint like Da Vinci, Rembrandt or Michelangelo. What you do is just like art but to a standard very few will ever achieve. Your son is real luck because he’s getting learn and work with one of the very best.
Take care my friend.
You can say it's just experience, but dude you got some talent. Always very impressed
Your attention to detail is what sets you apart from many welder fabricators out there!
Notification DING DING....IC WELD video up....... I stop everything except BREATHING to watch your vid. 😁👍 Keep em coming MASTER.
I dig your video styles so much, not every video/project is a 1hr long video of the same stuff. Your slideshow videos are great, your mentor videos with your new Apprentice are superb. The jobsite videos super realistic. The at home in the garage videos are relaxed and I usually enjoy my breakfast with those. Imma life time subscriber since before 10k. *Cheers
Wow, thanks! Thank you for the kind words and support.
I really enjoy watching your videos and learning. The work you do is quality craftsmanship. I'm glad you're passing your knowledge along. Thank you.
I'm a hobbyists welder, nothing fancy or big, but I always learn something from your videos than I can apply to my projects. Greetings from Mexico!!!
In my opinion one of your best videos on your torch work and explaining how you achieved the results.
That's the type of work I enjoy doing...
Greetings from Laredo 🇨🇱
Master Craftsman! Always a pleasure to see your work! Thank you for sharing and teaching!
Beautiful work! Pure magic.
Looks like a precision craftsmanship job. This is one of the reasons I enjoy your channel.
I repaired three of these tabs on three different trailers for one oilfield outfit. What was causing the breakage was the fact that the drivers were not making sure that the vertical bearing surface was clean. All three of these trailers had mud packing in on the vertical surface so that when the pins locked in and the trailer was lifted the mud acted like a shim and put additional loading on the tab. I showed the owner this and explained it to him and he was a tad pissed. All of the drivers were told that if they broke another tab and there was mud packed in that they might as well just pack up and get gone. His exact words were dust and tail lights guys, dust and tail lights. Strangely enough, they never broke another tab.
Good work by the way. There are so many that don't know how to use a torch properly.
Absolutely wonderful Job,...../Thanks For Sharing,....I learn more each time I watch you 😎👍
Always a pleasure to watch your work. Great insight into heavy metalwork.
It's always a pleasure to watch a master of their profession.
Just superb a real pleasure to watch real Pro at work thanks for the Video.
Cheers stay well I look forward to the next.
Another professional class brought to us from Professor Isaac
Never get tired of watching skill.
It's always a pleasure watching a master at work. You may have a track cutter, but it still takes a heck of a lot of knowledge to use it and get those kinds of results. Thanks for sharing.
After 43 years doing what you do You are way better than I have ever been. Just a hint, When piercing metal with a torch I have always drilled a 1/4" hole just inside cut line. Torch will flow thru hole and give you a clean start instead of piercing and making a lot of cutting slag on top.
Man, that is one heck of a joy to watch. Magnificent!
What amazing work. Thanks for bringing us along.
Such a steady hand
Exceptional muscle memory
Respect !
Amazing cut work. You absolutely humble me as an old welder that I am . Your equipment is amazing
The joy when a cut pans out the way you planned it. *happy dance* :) :)
Impressive. Just to remove the damaged piece to clean parent metal took skill. Fillet weld looked like stacked dimes. You are one talented metal worker and welder.
Turned out great! Thank you for your time again!!!
There's a lot of force on those ears from every direction it's amazing they last as long as they do especially in construction and off-road environments. Nice repair
I do like how you take something that some people would make into a complicated situation and you break it down and make it simple and easy to understand.
This man can do everything. Love your videos as I am a beginning weldor. Thank you bro.
I've been welding for 41 years and I could feel the burns while you were gouging. Nice work and I like the way that Hobart wire looks.
Thanks 👍
I love me some Fabshield 21B. Have you had any issues with using it-charpy etc? Nice job. Thanks.
Always makes my day when you post. Thanks for the video.
Isaac, You are amazing!! Your experience would be very valuable at a tech school/community college, training our future craftsmen. Were I younger I would open a tech school and make you an offer you couldn't refuse. I would hope someone in your area would do that very thing. Our country needs the skills you have and display in every project you complete. Caterpillar is struggling to find people with skills just to do production welding but they also need people with your skill level to do the "salvage work" when the production welders don't do it right. There aren't 1 in 1000 with your skills. Reach out Dear Sir!!!!
My wife is wanting me to consider exactly what you are mentioning. This is my 3rd decade at my trade and its definitely done its work on this old..ish body. I might have to think seriously about that at some point.
@@ICWeld Maybe you could get your wife a job and then you would not have to work as hard, lol.
👍 Well said, sir!
Master for sure. You create the impossible and make it look easy
U.K. welder here!!! Your welding and Fabbing is amazing!!! Love watching your stuff!!!!!!
Great video Isaac! You always make it look so easy. It is such a pleasure to watch you weld and cut, etc. Thanks for sharing!
I really like these videos where you talk through what you’re doing. I know they take more time to make but they’re well worth it to me. Really excellent!
Can always tell when a man takes pride in his work takes pride in himself nice work
VERY nice work. Cool tools !!
I learned that i do not know much compared to this maestro with his sparks and smoke. Well done!
Another beautiful job Isaac. Looking forward to next vids.
Awesome work! I used to pull a trailer similar to that and I would trust that job any day ! Keep em coming
Sometimes it's finesse that's required , which you apparently have in abundance , other times it's Tanya's moment to shine . She may not be worth her weight in gold but she earns her keep.
Brilliant as always especially working on that 2" slab of steel.
Mighty fine work there! God Bless!
That repair looks nice, Isaac. Thanks for the welding tips.
Customer was happy and job looks great!
You are a true artist. I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for the content.
I always learn a mountain of things when I watch your videos!
love the vid! love learning new stuff!! having pulled a trailer that had that connection type that hauled 75tons, im shocked that the factory welds are so minimal and yet get the job done! wow!
As always great craftsmanship
Very nice work as usual. Thanks for talking us through the step by step process.
I'ma welder 81 yrs young and I used that same track torch cuting machine in 1967 and it was great as the track could very up and down a little and still cut perfect I haven't seen one in a while good job, Jim las vegas nv
Great video !!
Another great repair !! 😊
Once again a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, thank you.
Great job! I like the torch tip cleaner trick to find the angle. You are a fountain of knowledge!!
Your a wizard with a torch! Darn impressive job.
So great. Love everything you do. God Bless Isaac
You are an absolute master of your trade. You are an artist. Love your videos.
Awesome as usual. I enjoy your videos
The way you set up your burning gear is like witchcraft! The cuts are so clean every time!!! Love watching your videos and getting tips to use in my shop! Keep them coming
I really enjoy watching your videos, great work. And your voice overs are educational, explains what's going on perfectly
I worked at a steel mill as a welder and was fortunate enough to have a track torch, miss that job sometimes….a lot of teeth shanks on loaders and crop car repairs. Good job sir
Wow, very interesting process. I like the speciality automated tools for cutting the plate steel.
That was an amazing piece of work
You have been by far one of the biggest contributors of my knowledge for my shop, my humble shop compared to yours, I do CNC plasma cutting quite a bit, much less oxy acetylene super thick material than you do, although I am slowly getting into it, my machine only goes up to 1 in thickness on the CNC, I typically cut with propane and oxygen, which most people don't realize is pretty damn good for the average shop, and cost a whole lot less!
Have you been able to figure out how to program the cnc to use a torch? I have a plasma table that I want to use for more torch work but I'm not familiar enough to program it to not need to touch sense the tip onto the table. I had to bypass mine manually when I did it on one of my last videos. It took way too long to figure out so I never tried again. partially because I've been too busy but I also don't know what I'm doing.😕😕😕
Such a professional, great work.
Very interesting watching you. When the job is finished it looks a top notch job. Looks better than new. Thanks
Nice unwelding work. That unwelding rod is fun to use without goggles 🤩 🔥 😂
Been learning from all your work. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge.
It finally happened. Today's video shows that with the proper "modern tools" you truly can do anything with nothing in no time at all. You are simply the greatest in The Good Old USA! Thanks for the videos.
Watching your fabrication skills amazes me. Thank you, your videos are top shelf.
The trick with the tip cleaner was a neat nugget of knowledge to absorb. Thanks for sharing that with us!
Your skill never fails to amaze me! Awesome job man!
I always learn something! Keep them coming!
Great stuff! Love the voice overs.
Nice repair Isaac!👍🏼👍🏼😀
