  • Jim Smith was the first artist I managed. He’s a super cool artist from Chapel Hill North Carolina, who’s music I really dug! So he moved in with us in my house on Golfview Dr in Turnersville NJ. I gathered some world class musician friends of mine to support him, including Glenn Alexander, Rob Miller & Shawn Pelton. We recorded demos in Philadelphia, and had this special showcase at the Bitter End in NYC. We received multiple offers for a record deal, but Jim was always hesitant about becoming “famous” and cool stuff was happening quickly. One morning, he was just gone and we never heard from him again. This was back in 1991 (before the internet really). Now, in 2023 as I found & uploaded these videos (converted from tape to digital) I STILL love his sound & songwriting! If you know who he is… let me know!

I knew Jim in Salisbury NC. Spent some time with him from 1999-2001. He was an amazing musician and craftsman.

Don't know where he is now, but I worked with him about 13 years ago in Michigan. He was a engineer on a tall ship here in my town. I worked on the tall ship as well and we became friends and even started our own flooring business for a time. He played music still at local joints. He went back to North Carolina last I knew and haven't seen him or heard from him since.
