- Ripped every Aku laugh in the series in chronological order (so Birth of Evil is first, followed by the other episodes). It made me very sad that there was no Aku Laugh Collection on youtube, considering how memorable and amazing his laugh is. Forever in awe of Mako's superb talents, RIP.

The thing about Mako (The vocalist for Aku) was described as If you gave him a specific mood, he would deliver it perfectly. If you needed him to ease back 10%, he would ease back 10% exactly for you. He just knew the right medium and the perfect laugh and mood for speaking in every occasion for his recordings. He knew when to go crazy, sound ludicrous and insane with wild abandon, and knew when to be a little more calmer, a little more darker and sinister and foreboding.
R.I.P. I hope Baldwin done a lot of practice since he died

According to this, he did a voiceover for Mako in front of one of Mako's daughters...and she broke down in tears. Now THAT is skill.

That's not Mako. It's a different voice actor.
Fun fact, Aku's name in Japanese is spelt as 悪, which is the first of the 2 kanji for Devil (Akuma- 悪魔) AND it translates to evil.
Actually, that's just the Japanese kanji. To both avoid using 悪 (which is considered bad juju) and demonstrate that it is Aku's name and not the word, people in Japan spell it in katakana アク (or sometimes アクウ). But yes, Aku was named Aku for a reason lol

Aku is a fragment of pure evil, which was almost killed far away in space, so sort of yeah.
James Michel .Aku means nothing in english it's just part of "akuma" which comes from japanese and means devil. But you're right, though.
A S R Well really 悪 can be read as "aku" and means evil. Aku no hana also means flower of evil so indeed Aku means evil on it's own.

They would get Greg Baldwin to do it. He was a student of Mako's and took over his roles after Mako's death. So far he has voiced Uncle Iroh, Splinter in TMNT, and Aku in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall.

***** Troy Baker's voice is still recognizable to me in his Joker voice (which to me sounded like an exaggerated version of his Tom Hiddleston Loki), plus he's one of the first people you'd expect to be a replacement voice.

Mako's laugh was an art form. The show tried its best to replace him, but the shoes Mako left behind were massive.
