Everyone is talking so bad about this but when I look at what they are doing for the person who is deceased, they are letting that person, before their earthly body leaves this earth...letting them have that one more glorified, yet respectful rememberance of them. I think it is awesome and nothing short of a blessing to be able to do this for your family member.
When my Mom passed away a few years ago , we had 1 highway patrol, 1 sheriff deputy, and 1 police officer (all friends) escort us the 16 miles to the cemetery. If we had this to go with that, what a send-off.
So many people criticize this. Different cultures, families, and even areas of the United States, have different traditions. One of the things I have noticed is that the family and people in attendance at the funeral weren't sobbing. They seemed joyful almost, to send their loved one to heaven. Funerals are for the living.
@callmeG0DFATHER actually the late Gregory W. Spencer did not originate all this,.this actually originated back in the 1930's they espically been doin this in the north...i grew up around this all my life and went to schoo for this!
He hires "professional mourners'" and they act a damn fool.... This show is on TLC it's called Best Funeral Ever... The most over the top ridiculousness I've ever seen .... That was a nice clip they showed seemed real classy.... but you should see some of the other "funerals" they do.... RIDICULOUS!
All of this ceremony of course is for the living but whats the purpose of it, each to their own but it accomplishes absolutely nothing in the end for the deceased but obviously added costs, just have the funeral and bury the deceased, get it over with, show boat at another event.
