    I bought CX-50 about 2 month ago, and still enjoy driving it. This is a great fun SUV. You could drive it like Mini Countryman S, playing with a paddle shift in sport mode. No other competitors in its class (with similar price range) can drive like this CX-50. It provides much enjoyable driving than a normal BMW X3. It feels little bit more fun in city driving, compared to my previous Audi SQ5. If you can't believe it, just do some test-drive! -From the previous Golf R, SQ5, Mini owner :)

    I just traded my 2017 RAV4 for a 2024 CX-50 Premium and I’m very satisfied. I love how sleek it is. Ride quality is a big step up from my RAV4. Loved the Toyota but this Mazda has it all…..
    Big fan of the actual buttons and knobs. My wife also likes that because her car everything including the heating/AC is all on the touch screen.

  • @jerrystandefer9128
    @jerrystandefer9128 Před 3 měsíci +6

    It's too bad you didn't get to review a CX-50 with the revised suspension tuning and steering effort, which is supposed to make the ride more compliant on and off road as well as lighten the steering assist some. It was a mid-year change starting with November 2023 production. How can I tell the vehicle you reviewed doesn't have it? Another small change that was made was swapping of the HVAC on/off and AC buttons. There were complaints that the AC button was in an awkward spot tucked away in the lowest and furthest position from the driver, while the rarely used on/off button was in a prime spot. Given the complaints about the stiff ride quality on anything less than perfect roads and overly heavy steering, I am interested to see how much of a change the revisions actually make. Otherwise, nice video!

    "Autonomous driving". Mazda has some driving philosophies I tend to agree with. One, if you are driving, then you should have your hands on the wheel and drive. Driving aids should aid the driver, not replace him. Although the radar assist cruise control is the exception for me (and Mazda). Infotainment goes in the center screen, driving info in the gauge cluster.

    I wish Mazda would have a charcoal grey interior for the CX50 & CX-5. As a lady, I don’t love the black because it tends to be dark & masculine, and the terracotta is nice, but doesn’t always pair well with all of the car colors. The charcoal grey would look awesome with the machine gun grey, the black, the white, and the red.

    I personally consider both start/stop (iStop) & cylinder-deactivation engine tech as "worse things". Two over-engineered, added-complexity problems waiting to happen, just so Mazda can have an easier time meeting fuel economy regulations/targets. So glad that my 2022 CX-30 has neither of those "features", & that was one of the main selling points for me, as well as having a standard, moderized-version 6-speed automatic transmission instead of a crappy, delicate belt/chain CVT or DCT.

    I don't want my car to drive for me. I think the fact Mazda "lags" behind in technology is a major plus. Less crap to go bad when the car hits 100k miles. Still plenty of safety features and gosh it drives better than the competitors. Also cargo volume is less important if it isn't useable. While the CX-50 has less volume than the CX-5, its longer meaning I can lay in the back, I can carry longer objects. For me the length is usually more useful than height. If I need to haul something huge you really need a truck or pull a little trailer with this anyway.

    This is a nice vehicle, but it’s way overpriced. I owned a 2017 CX-5 GT for three years, and I had a 2024 CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus loaner for over a week. It’s clear that Mazda spent more time and money on the interior of the CX-5. Design is subjective, but there is no argument against the fact that Mazda used better materials in the CX-5. The turbo variant of this vehicle is a gas guzzler. I barely averaged 20mpg with it during a week of driving. Having said that, though, the exterior looks really good!

    I am so disappointed! Went to a Mazda dealership today to check out the CX-50. Beautiful car inside and out for the most part, though I saw a lot of cheap plastics on the door - front and back. Many would like if it was built in Japan like the CX-5, but what shocked me when looking at the sticker was that the engine was from Mexico and not Japan like the transmission is. Why?
    The new CR-V is assembled in the US, but at least the engine and transmission are from Japan. Also, as Savage Geese pointed out how cheap the back seat is by easily picking it up and shaking it up and down, I was able to do the same. Not very sturdily built. The Car Care Nut also pointed out the speakers at the top front of the door panel partially blocking the air vents that defog the windows, this is so true. Who was the genius that decided to put speakers in front of air vents? The CX-50 was on the top of my list above the Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V. Unfortunately, due to the engine not being from Japan, this may be a deal breaker. Yet, I might still go for a test drive.

    I wish the presenter would remove the sunglasses so we can see his eyes and know who he is.

    NO HYBRID??--- THANK GOD - they haven't f...d these up with that mess. Hybrids are crap.. they're good at first til you begin to have issues- then it gets EXTREMELY expensive quickly--and they're hell on the environment when junked.. ALSO- most companies are not making "spare" battery packs for them-because they're too expensive to "get stuck" with several in stock-- so when they stop making this version of vehicle it's in-- you WON"T be able to get replacements. (and on the miracle that you DO find one in stock- it's $8000 or MORE..)
