Starfield | Ideal Settings for 1440P - RTX 3080

- Starfield is very demanding and extremely harsh on Ampere GPUs, but that does not mean you have to put up with compromising your quality in exchange for better frames (not significantly, at least). After hours of trial and error, I finally found a good preset that will warrant a mostly sub 60 fps experience (with exceptions that will depend on your CPU).
I hope you guys can also get a playable experience with this preset!
Hardware:
32 GB RAM
Ryzen 7 3700X
Nvidia RTX 3080 10 GB
This engine is bizarre man. I have a 13900k and 3080 12gb. I get 60fps everywhere, 1440p at 80% resolution mix of med/high settings. I have the game on a fast NVME drive and it still stutters. Not so much on barren planets but in the big cities like New Atlantis. It's a small hitch but I still see it. It's not on my end either it's the engine. Bethesda still haven't figured out how to render big town areas seamlessly. It is a joke that this game requires a strong CPU to get good framerate. You should not need a 13900k for a small, enclosed city that is segmented in sections. 3700x should be good enough for solid 60fps. The optimization in this game is atrocious.
Thank u very much
THX for showing clocks on cheap 3080. Wanna undervolt my strix and check temp.
Thanks for sharing
showing the town is not a spoiler, it's part of the game just don't show story missions people want to know how it runs when you are in towns.
Also do videos with mods Nexus has a bunch of performance enchantments and setting tweaks for making your game run smoother and at higher FPS a review on the mods and how they compare would be cool.
Great video earned a sub.
Have fun with Starfeel, Artur! :hmm:
17:51 ... I had the same idea this moment. hahahaha
I have a 3080 and a 5900x and get terrible fps. Also have 64gb of corsair ram. I am on 1440p monitor.
did you install the latest nvidia drivers? it improves perf a bit
Same but 5800x
Mid 40s in cities and 60+ fps elsewhere is perfectly fine performance. I get this when playing in 1080p using highest settings, except for having fsr2 on and shadow quality set at medium. Disable vrs, v-sync, and dynamic resolution. Also turn off motion blur and depth of field. 60 fps is not necessary. It looks and plays great above 40 FPS, but ideally above 45 fps is best though. With these settings, you get +60 fps in most environments anyway - I have a 3080 and 11980hk cpu. Need to take into account that the game is CPU heavy though
