In this animation tutorial we take the droid we made and rigged in previous tutorials and animate a simple jumping action. I'll go over all you need to know to start approaching your own animation. We discuss keyframes and breakdowns and how to adjust the timing and style of your animation using the dope sheet. There's a lot to cover, hope you're excited! Let's jump in!

HI just to add, you can change the keying set on the timeline to (whole character) so that you can just press ( I) once and the keyframes will be recorded and it will record all bone data without the bones being selected but it does not work when auto key frame is on ..best animation tut in youtube..

hi, can't you tell me how to make the character himself as an object move around the scene . it's just that your root bone is moving, which does not allow you to connect this animation with another one normally. is it possible to transfer the movement of the root bone to both object
idk why but i tried to normally animate and add keyframes but nothing would move... this is the first time that it's happened since i moved to 2.91

Thanks so much, really appreciate your tutorials. On this one whenever i play animation the fps drop to 4 or 5, i can still work with it. Anything I can change from the settings menu to increase performance? I'm on a laptop gtx 1070, perhaps that's the problem ¬¬
Fixed it! Somehow the droid.s feet had like 5000 faces xD now it runs at 24 fps
@@CharlVizz Glad you found the problem! I'm new to Blender and I'm blown away by how well optimized it is for how powerful the software is. The fact that you can do animation on a laptop at all is amazing, let alone for free!

Great help - fun & informative! Going to buy your bot. A couple suggestions to improve your tuts, #1. Get a highlighted cursor #2. Get a mouse icon in the corner which shows your mouse actions and is easier to decipher than your tiny red lettering with the 'L Shift A' below... and example of the mouse button display is here: czcams.com/video/JHigHbGkWAg/video.html

I've been trying to animate with Blender since this video has been made. As soon as I try to import animations edit animations join NLA strips. Hey! You are going pretty fast on that bike shame someone would put a stick in your spokes. It is discouraging, soul and creativity killing hell.
