Apologies Cina - Didn't warn you about this one. It's one of the few where it's a disadvantage to 'start cold' - but really important to know the backstory and the see the lyrics throughout (as detailed comments below). In this, Dimash as usual, 'inhabits' the storyline, - but this story was a real & painful event in China and quite recent also. Here, Dimash personifies the little boy's anguish and bewilderment as he sees, but doesn't understand, the loss of his parents, as they lift him to safety just in the moments before they fall away from him to their deaths in the faulty cable car. Dimash wears specific clothing and hair style and uses childlike expressions, tones and gestures and he conveys the story. It is a powerful piece and I recommend you watch it again when you feel so inclined - but brace yourself - & have the tissues handy! L

The story behind this song is so sad, as others have already stated. In one reaction I watched to this song they said that Dimash is playing the role of the young boy who lost his parents, but that the song represents him as a toddler at the time of the incident and also as a young man looking back. When he sings this I can feel the desperate cries of a two year old being torn from his parents.

Apologies Cina - Didn't warn you about this one. It's one of the few where it's a disadvantage to 'start cold' - but really important to know the backstory and the see the lyrics throughout (as detailed comments below). In this, Dimash as usual, 'inhabits' the storyline, - but this story was a real & painful event in China and quite recent also. Here, Dimash personifies the little boy's anguish and bewilderment as he sees, but doesn't understand, the loss of his parents, as they lift him to safety just in the moments before they fall away from him to their deaths in the faulty cable car.
Dimash wears specific clothing and hair style and uses childlike expressions, tones and gestures and he conveys the story. It is a powerful piece and I recommend you watch it again when you feel so inclined - but brace yourself - & have the tissues handy! L

An accident with a cabelcar that eventually took 14 peoples lives. Amongst them both the parents of a 2 year old boy who miraculesly survived the accieent.
