    use a 90 degree barb fitting for the air hose so the hoses can be routed side by side

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před rokem +1

      That would work but the 90 bend would cause a reduction in air flow and loss of laminar flow as the air molecules bounce around the corner. Suggest that there be a looping bend in the air hose and then use a zip tie to pair it up to the media hose at the base of the gun if this doesn't create a awkward grip issue. Grip issue might be a problme with your suggestion as well depending exactly how you route the air hose. We prefer to just to let the hoses be as they. Thanks for your comment and happy blasting !!

    One suggestion I have is to explain why this gun is better than others. I understand the parts may be better quality but what does that equate to during blasting. Thanks!

      Thanks for your comment. The gun has the best of high flowing parts limiting restrictions to flow. Therefore you maximize the capability of your compressor and reduce compressor cycling. Happy blasting

    Nice video, Thumbs up. I checked out your site and I only see the full upgrade kits. It would be nice to see all the individual parts for sale, as I already have some of the items in the kit. Right now I'm just shopping around for upgrades. I have the Dust Deputy, foot switch, regulator, gun not yours though, 5/8" reinforced hose. You guys should do a step by step build and do upgrades in steps and show the differences. Most guys could afford the full upgrade, but several years ago I couldn't and a video on the a progressive upgrades to make one at a time would've been great. Thanks again for the video. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před 2 lety +1

      Understood. But if you are blasting more than a few minutes, the triggerless gun sure takes the strain off your trigger finger. Also, the trigger mechanism introduces additional air restrictions and O-rings that wear out and need maintenance. Happy blasting !!

      @drefhill Před 2 lety

      if you really want the trigger get a Mafa gun from Germany. But it's much better with a pedal to control for many differents reasons.

    Good coverage on the gun but what about the air pressures to run it??? Most home comressors run at about 120PSI and thats way too much for the blaster. Thanks in advance

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před rokem

      The sweet spot for blasting is generally between 45 and 65 PSI. An air regulator at the cabinet is important to control the air pressure close to the the cabinet. CFM is also a key parameter. We include an air regulator in all of our upgrade kits. Best regards

    I have this gun and have been using it for over a decade. Have change out parts over the years, but realize watching this I don't have the O ring between the ceramic nozzle and gun. How important is it. I can find an Oring around the shop if it would improve performance. Other question is on the surgical tube. Should it cover a little beyond the metal tip, flush with the tip, or a little behind. It does a great job preventing cavitation wear, but unsure if I have it right. I have it .2mm beyond the tip thinking that would protect the best but not get in the way.
    Thanks for your time.

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před 2 lety +1

      The O-ring is good to have as it provides an airtight seal directing all air through the nozzle. It also provides for a fiction fit tightness as you screw down the knurled ring. Probably not a big deal but I would definitely throwe one in there. If you don't have the right size, a hydraulic hose supply company will have one for under a buck. The neoprene tubing should go right to the end of the orifice. Hope this helps. happy blasting !!

    thanks for your work on upgrading a useless cabinet. If one were to upgrade to a cabinet that does not leak, could one still use your hardware, and if so, what cabinet under $1,100 and in the realm of 36x24 would be worthwhile? Do you know? I am looking at Skatblast from TP tools. Not sure how much of an upgrade that is. Then, I seem to double in price to Bad Boy Blaster or Trinco - both of which have great reputations, but start to exceed my budget.

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před 2 lety +1

      If you have a HF cabinet, there is a good chance that you can get it sealed up pretty well. Running a vacuum system will definitely be a big help in controlling leaks as the vac system will create a negative pressure within the cabinet and suck the dust out through the vac system instead of pushing it out the cracks under positive pressure. The whole idea behind our upgrade kits is that you can take the stock HF cabinet at less than $200 and then improve it to the level of a much more efficient and professional for a fraction of the cost. We can supply a customized kit if you like. Please visit our website at paartswasherupgradekit.com to see all of our great individual components and full kits.

    You should NOT be using clamps on those push-lok fittings for the hoses, put a little soapy water on the fittings and push the hose on until it seats on the yellow collar. Only use clamps on standard barbed fittings.

    How stiff is that braided media hose? I found most of those from the local store are rather rigid,

    • @partswasherupgradekit6028
      @partswasherupgradekit6028  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for asking. The hose is fairly stiff. But this is on purpose. We have found that the flimsier hoses (thinner wall thickness - generally 1/16") tend to kink and that immediately blocks the flow. Also, the thicker wall of our hose (1/8") contains fabric that provides for long life. We have found that if you control the loop of the hose by rotating it on the fitting and in the grommet, and shorten it by taking any extra length out that is not required, the firmness is not a real problem. Obviously this is a matter of some personal preference but I hope this has been helpful. Thanks for looking
