Hey very nice informative video and the jeep door handles look great. I got a 16 Rubicon and I want to purchase the same door handle kit. My question is how do u release the mechanism on the tailgate handle with the red n green tag on it. It’s the one that has the spring on it. I followed the video all the way to that part and not sure if I missed it or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ty
Sorry for the delay. I am not sure the 16 is the same as my 09. However. On mine there is a rod going from the handle mechanism to the latch mechanism. At each end there is a retention clip. On mine the clip at the handle is red and the latch end clip is green. I released the red one. Take a long thin screwdriver and pry between the clip and the rod to swivel it towards the inside of the door. Once it is swiveled out of the way you should be able to pul the rod out of the handle mechanism. Them detach the handle from the door.
Hey guys, I use a harbor freight ceramic magnet attached to my shaft to hold the nuts. 😅 works great to not drop the nut.
