Thank you Shannon for all your hard work.
Youre welcome.
Colorado then added Yakov Trenin and Graham Sward from Nashville for Jeremy Hanzel and a 3rd round pick in next year's draft shortly after this was uploaded.
Trenin is a pretty decent 3rd/4th liner from what I've seen.
Having a decent year as well. Good pick up.
Looks like a smaller trade for them. But is another veteran player with playoff experience that can aid and add more depth. Interested how he will be like or if they might use him or player prospect for trade package for another player since teams will sometimes do that and I don't think Avalanche are done yet with trade deadline. Chris MacFarland has been more active with trade deadline compared to last year with only Lars Eller added to roster. Loving this as Avs fan wonder if more moves will be made
Im happy that Kenny Holland has been throwing the weight around this deadline. I know he did last year with Ekholm. But addressing the center & winger depth with Henrique, & Carrick and now Stecher for a top 6 role with Kulak. Im pretty happy so far, im hoping it really gives the team a spark in the playoffs, and now talks of them being on Eberle is also pretty exciting! Can’t wait to drive down to Edmonton on the 29th to watch the game against the Ducks on the 30th!!!
Duhaime is tough AF and is a quick skater.. is a great 3-4th line pick up. Makes sense since they dumped McDermmod. Duhaime is way faster and younger
MacDermid is a defence
Duhaime is 27
@@wesley4097 i meant as a tough guy
The Avs getting Brandon Duhaime for just a third rounder from a rival seems like a steal. The Avs certainly feels like they've upgraded over the last few days. Yet they still have addressed that back up goalie situation.
As an armchair Gm I'd stop giving no move clauses to players unless they are willing to take a pay cut. They want that control, it's gonna cost them.
Then you don't get Tarasenko
D.C. is pretty rough. I spent a few months there TDY as was banned from like half of the area
I'd be super happy to see the fun-loving Toffoli back in Vancouver. I love his excitement when he scores.. He and Petts would have a lot of fun.
So nice to come from all the random trade banter to your channel.
Awesome coverage on these trades
Christ, the Avs might be deeper now than when they won the Cup two seasons ago...
I used to work for the team and still have some connections in the organization: Monumental wants to move the Capitals and the Wizards not just because Gallery Place isn't a great area of DC, but because the plan for Alexandria would feature a full "entertainment district." It's too much of a lucrative oppotunity for the team to pass up, and as many hoops as the city of Washington is trying to jump through to improve the area, the part of the city that it's in is impossible to create that same set up due to existing buildings
i love toffoli as a devil so letting him go to another team will be hard but if he would end up in vancouver i would not be too sad about it
Hi Shannon !...
Love stetch from his days with the canucks. Also, a bc boy!
Yes he’s going to be valuable for the oil boys ,
nobody's a better watch this time of year you rock THG
I’m a Canadian living in Va. and attend Caps games regularly, especially when Canadian teams come to town. The downtown area is fine. It’s not rough or hard to see games there. Parking is an issue because you have to park in private lots and walk to the arena but to suggest it’s “rough” to me is a tad of an overreach. Thanks for your work. Fun to watch. Ya didn’t mention Ottawa!
Just noticed your Dallas calendar in the wall. Must be a true Dallas fan because I know it was online only from CC
free sid crosby!
Great work Shannon 🙏
As a caps fan, the current location is the best place for it. There does need some business near it though.
That Barkov Reinhart Tarasenko line is terrifying especially with the other 2 lines coming onto the ice after it
0-1 with Tarasenko.
Lekkerimäki is lighting it up in the SHL. I see why the Nucks droppped out in case say, Dubas was hellbent on him being part of the package.
"it used to be a big deal trading with division rivals"... tell that to Craig "fuck the Oilers" Conroy
Conny truly is the GOAT for making things as hard as possible for the Oilers. He knows how to endear himself to Flames fans.
Thank goodness the legislature got some sense
There more trade coming
See ya in the SHL Tobias! Just another wonderful pick by Rob Flake!
Hope JAD gets more of an opportunity in Nashville, always liked him in juniors, was hoping a bottom feeder grabbed him.
The Avs quickly turning into a personal favourite of mine
Darcy Kemper was pulled from being a starter tonight, Hunter Shepherd has been called up …. ⬆️ looks like Kemper might be gone.
Sign partial movement clauses
As a wild fan I'll miss Duhaime.
You’re one of the few people I’d like to see armchair GM videos from 😅
The cap limit is bogus this year. Vegas is making a bigger joke of the LTIR than Tampa has recently done.
If you know Stone is coming back and they are a lock for the cup, by all means take advantage of this money making opportunity while the odds are still against them.
Every team operates under the same rules
@@kftc1980 tf you mean "odds are still against them" they're the defending stanley cup champions, using LTIR to evade the cap. How could you possibly think the odds are against them?
@@Doctorboster have a look at the standings, and current odds.
@@Doctorbosterhe means literally the odds are against them. The bookies do not favor them right now. Wonder if you could even drop a bet on whether stone appears in a playoff game, if you really are confident they're cheating the system go make some money off of it.
5:16 Back when Brad Richards was a big UFA and he was contemplating going to the Kings I really hoped they'd land him for a similar reason. At the time they had Mike Richards and Brad Richardson, I was hoping they could put out a line (briefly because they wouldn't generally play together) of Mike Richards, Brad Richards, and Brad Richardson. At the time the Kings were my least favorite team (I'm a Sharks fan) so it wasn't hopes of them getting a good player, it was purely for the names.
How strong was Boston last year and how'd that work out!?
Not well. You can argue the Presidents Trophy is a curse
@@defectiveindustries it is as it breeds over confidence! And I'm happy to say I'm one of the few that predicted Bostons season not carrying on into the playoffs and ending in collapse!
more love between teams in same division?
Duhaime for a third rounder is alright for the wild, was definitely hoping for more than a 3rd rounder when trading in division though
Trade deadline a day early this year it seems.
Another point in support of Tarasenko: he took less money for that NTC. He literally PAID for his right to decide
Wrong. Carolina offered 3.5 million and no NTC. Bobby Ryan has that on record
avs have 18 forwards right now lol
You think the flyers would claim raanta, despite his poor numbers, to get a backup?? 🤔🤔🤔
Stecher to Edmonton I like.
To fans, a deal only gets made when two or more parties agree. It’s common sense.
Hard not to cheer for the Oilers now that they have all star Tony Stretcher lighting the lamp from the blueline
Colorado ...
Adding some Hummel figurines to put on the shelf beside their Fabrege eggs !
Avs are all in.
Hockey fans should pay close attention to the last item...There seems to be the idea that state governments have no problem passing bond issuances in excess of several billion dollars...Welllll!!!...that is not exactly the case now is it. So for everyone out there who thinks that a development is no problem in Utah or Georgia or Texas....better check with the state treasurer first.
Jim benning the absolute legend who never offered contracts to people who wanted to stay lol
In DC, the Chinatown metro station that sits under Capitol One Center is ROUGH. I lived there for 8 years and avoided that station at all costs. Poorly designed and crowds and crime. Just bad news. Which is sad because the actual neighborhood (Chinatown) has GREAT food and people.
The area around Cap One Arena is not bad, imho. It has seen an uptick in business closures due to the pandemic, and of crime, but its still a pretty nice area and I haven't noticed any adverse impact on attendance at Caps games. I've never had any problems or issues for the games I've attended. And the city is promising to take steps to address the issues that have arisen.
Are they going to clean it up really good by banning politicians 😅
Kings really hoping to re-claim Bjornfot
THG,what’s your rap,on the Blackhawks, draft picks, that they have built up,but now that the season is close to being over, and these pick, leave a lot to be desired!
Duhaime is just a depth player in case someone gets injured, I imagine. I'm not too familiar with him.
Agree completely on the issues that exist with the NMCs/NTCs, these trades specifically highlight it. Teams like the Sens NEED that return. Panthers have all the leverage because they're good, they have all the power in those situations. The rich get richer.
Definitely rough around the Caps’ building, but I’m from Detroit 😂
Avs 0:16
Shannon is the New Sea Bass- "KICK HIS ASS SEA BASS" Amazing work respect the R&D on all your videos! Cheers 🏒🥅
Per the Caps moving venue situation..for what it’s worth as WAPO subscriber.. the sentiment by readers there was Caps fan regulars wanted to stay in present location.
It’s complicated. The Arlington County/Fairfax County NoVA suburban area is likely where the vast majority of the NHL fanbase lives. But, that said, Potomac Yard isn’t necessarily easier for me to get to than Gallery Place/Chinatown-it’s essentially a wash. Alexandria is a pain to get to even though I live just north of there, especially during rush hour.
@@MisterCaution Thanks for more info on this. Grew up in New England but lived out West since and a Caps fan a long time as the team started around the time I graduated high school in 1974. Ironic they won Cup in Vegas where I had retired! I purchased a game puck in VGK shop to celebrate.
@@mercywilliams2698 To be perfectly honest, I’d be happy either way, but lean toward hoping they stay in Gallery Place for selfish reasons. My office is there, so I have free event parking.
Yet another business trying to escape the cesspool of slumland.
@@stackula99 Right!
I was in Washington November 2022 to watch a Caps and Redskins game. My friends and I also stayed in the area where the Caps play. It is indeed a VERY rough neighborhood. Many loud and dangerous homeless
That was in 2022 --- It is rough but has gotten better --- not all the way tho
The nations capital being full of politicians and having a high crime rate is nicely poetic
So it's pretty obvious the bolts are making any serious moves... very disappointing 😞
The Anthony Beauvillier trade has not been posted as of 2:45pm could be there is something else is in the mix??
Yes he has posed a video of that one already
@@sure572 I know that he posted it -- however, the NHL has not posted it as of 2:45pm
Here’s one for ya gang. Colorado’s recent trade made me wonder about a possible scenario. Draft pick gets dealt but it’s top 10 protected. So, top 10 they keep it, not top 10 it’s gone. Can they trade the top 10 protected portion as well?
If it's protected and they use it, it isn't gone. It reverts to the following year with no restrictions.
I want some Jets news. 😭
Josh brown next
The Caps need to be moved!!! I hear Quebec is a warm sunny place!!!
Noooo not Duhaime 😢😢😢 I’m gonna miss him
Its interesting seeing florida as a player's only team they'd waive their NTC for. I remember not very long ago florida was seen as a team where nobody wanted to go, some success later and now that narrative is gone
Leafs are gonna claim DeAngelo and Katchouk. They both played for Sheldon Keefe in the Soo.
The area around the arena is a dump, every restaurant around there has security.
Someone should claim Tobias Bjornfot. He's got top 4 potential. Only 22 and was a first round draft pick. Vegas has a deep blue line.
Oilers have so many players.
Would rather canucks try on toffoli than lose a lot on guentzal
Or buchnevich has the same stats as guentzal but would cost less. Might aswell go with cheaper options here 🤔
I’m thinking toffoli definitely worth a try if doesn’t cost much
Lmao, is Tarasenko doing this weird "Tkachuk" tour? St Louis obviously had Kieth for a while... Now playing with both his kids...
I still think the Canucks should go after Guentzel. I'm not impressed with Lindholm & playing him on the third line is a waste imo.
Wow! The Oilers are hitting HR after HR….Stetcher makes their blue line one of the best in the league and Henrique…..damn was that a steal that takes them over the hump…..🤭
Calm down....they still have that fantastic pair of goalies😅
@@laurarebel6282 😆
Yes he’s definitely a player that is going to be liked in deadmonton
I hope the flames claim Katchouk because of how his name sounds 🙂
Katchouk played for Sheldon Keefe with the Soo Greyhounds
And of course the Flyers are doing nothing.
Oilers still have no goaltending
And my Rangers still haven’t picked up 1RW or 3D their doomed
It's because everyone is asking for too much I rather them do nothing else don't give up for now then when they can't sign him
Caps problems sounds like Detroits problems a while back.
they got solved.
Nashville fell for our trap...😹😹😹 The guy is less than useless...
Thirty picks over 3 years. So, average 10 a year. How many contracts are you allowed? 40/45? Where's the room? There is not. Habs are in the same situation. Only so much of a good thing is good.
We're all expecting the Bruins to do something.
I think they're going to do nothing. That way we won't be surprised when it comes to naught
brendon lemieux might be a good hab
Go knights. Mode
Wpg grab Lemiuex
Bruins just doing absolutely nothing
Really sucks losing JAD he really showed he can be a responsible bottom 6 NHL player this season maybe LA will re-claim Bjornfot we shall see
I note Raanta and Bjornfot are available... Either one would be a great pickup...
What it means for Coyotes fans is the team trades away some of their players and the NEXT DOMICILE for the team will benifit(Unless the current management) is still in charge. Another nail in the coffin for Arizona fans.
I don't see a Boston Bruins logo on that board - sad! Don Sweeney & Cam Neely, the clock is ticking on your teams season - tick tock tick tock and all the good guys have been traded already so......ummm, yeah......
Are you ot putting out as many videos? I unsubscribed the NHL. Your comments are welcome and better.
as a pens fan, on the armchair gm topic, i would love lekkermaki but thats delusional to think canucks would part with him. most armchair gms are bad
As are some of the actual GM's (see Kyle Dubas)
Tired of seeing the tax payers on the hook for these fucking arenas.
I love how the teams seem to be actively trying to deprive TSN of any content for their obnoxious trade deadline coverage. It's hilarious to watch them awkwardly scrape together nothing to talk about for hours.
Congrats to the Oilers on just making their D a bit closer to below average.
Yeah it somehow got worse
congrats to the Flames for booking tee times at the golf course for the third week of April
jacob was a first rounder.
too bad aboot mysak.
they have to start cleaning all the tweeners out before the actual prospects come next year.
and get a new coach in laval imo
and um im catholic so im allowed to make jokes ,and i think the puking thing is funny.i think everything the python does is funny.they walk funny talk funny do funny songs.
i like fun things.
gohabsgo
Cmon my guy...
When an impending UFA who everyone knows is not coming back is NOT traded....that is TERRIBLE Gming.
It's basic GMing 101. You get what you can get. That is the GMs job. DUH
That's why they should get rid of ntc/NMC!
Or just don’t hand them out like candy.
@@kftc1980 that's why they need to get rid of it! Because everyone knows they are there and all players when signing a new contract want them! Because you can weaponized it to your advantage!
@@smadas4192 ah, it’s the old we have to protect you from yourself argument. No thanks.
Why? So a team's management has more control over a player can or can't play? Sounds like you want contracts to be like they were in the 1960s.
@@blackenedmagic888 no, I don't want a team handcuffed regarding what they can/can't do with their players, especially home grown ones! I'm tired of teams not having control they should do get rid of a player or having to jettison a player to be cap compliant! I'm also tired of seeing teams figuring out creative ways to circumvent the cap! You still have the same thing as it was pre cap, teams that will spend spend and teams that don't wanna spend don't! Salary cap was supposed to stop competition "problems" within the league! It didn't do that and created more! There's no cap in Baseball and the league is good without one, there's no reason for it!
I'd love to see Vegas miss the playoffs after "sitting" one too many players on LTIR. It's kind of shameful what they do.
I'd like to see them go out in the first round. They won't miss the playoffs
