This game was hilarious. Watching the ref completely fail to keep the game in control all while sounders outplaying their opponents was a sight to behold. Of course, Pumas got salty and were extremely disrespectful. Shame on the pumas and good riddance!

1. I LOVE that Bretos/Dunseth are the de facto Sounders Apple TV broadcast team this year. I remember the years of them broadcasting CCL for Fox Soccer Channel.
2. It seemed like Pumas spent more time trying to provoke the Sounders than trying to score a goal. As you could lip-read from Morris, "It's 3-0! What are you doing that for?"
3. This run of form has come out of absolutely nowhere - and lately Rusnak has become the #10 we hoped he'd be. Let's hope it continues on Saturday.
4. We Sounders fans are still baffled at how we somehow backed into 2nd place in the West last year, but are happy it's paying off with the home-field advantage now.
5. Leagues Cup is still meaningless, but if Garber is making us play, might as well enjoy the ride.

It was DOGSO, just the yellow variety. It should have been red (he really did play the man and not the ball) but since the ref knew he was already on a yellow, it was a less incendiary move to make it a second yellow (not that it settled Pumas down in the least).

I only really watch my clubs matches but what little Leagues Cup I've followed it seems like MLS is destroying Liga MX. Almost every game result I see is an MLS win or draw. I love it. Can't wait to see Columbus in the final.

It doesn't hurt that they're all home games for the MLS clubs. If you watch CCL you'll know that MLS clubs usually hold their own at home, it's in the away leg that they usually have their lunch handed to them.

Sounders and Pumas played in the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2022 and Seattle beat Pumas 3-0 in Lumen, Seattle have had one of their worst starts ever this year and lost 3-1 to the last Mexican team they played while Pumas came in looking dominant and really wanting revenge for 2022
In soccer, there are several tournaments going on all year. MLS teams can compete in MLS Cup, Supporters Sheild, US Open Cup, Leagues Cup & Concacaf Champions Cup. This game is the second knockout round of the League's Cup. League's Cup is a mid-season tournament that combines all of Liga MX (Mexican league) with MLS for a month long, NCAA tournament style competition.

This is one of those many games in soccer in which the score line is deceiving. The gameplay was very even for most of the match, yet the score ended up 4-0, making it look like Seattle dominated from start to finish.
nonsense, I watched the match until the 82nd minute, and pumas didn't threaten once after like the 30th minute. seattle defended them very easily.
I see why you are saying that, but really the Sounders were very comfortable and organized in defense. I’m glad they found their counterattacking mojo because they haven’t been threatening with their usual heavy possession style.
