The Best of Brian Blessed on Have I Got News For You. This was recently deleted from someone's youtube account, but I had luckily saved it onto my hard drive before this happened.
I had the honour of meeting Brian at the theatre once. During the interval, he was sat there on his own, everyone in the bar just staring at him. I plucked up the courage... “Excuse me Mr Blessed, can I talk to y-“ “OF COURSE YOU CAN! SIT DOWN!” Suffice to say everyone else wandered over, and he sat there holding court. I don’t think I asked him one question, he just monologued for 15 minutes. Absolute legend, and gentleman.
I remember this first coming out and it was nothing but eye-watering laughter all through the episode. Phenomenal man-child who lives life to the full. You cannot not love this man.
Much like Black Holes Einstein predicted that someone like Brian Blessed could theoretically exist but didn't believe that Nature could produce someone so ridiculous...
Brian Blessed is one of the few celebs I'd stop in the street and thank for the amount of joy he brings me. A beautiful personality and his life work proves it

I love the stunned look of realisation on his face when he says "Fancy Smith". Completely unrehearsed and fantastic. If there is any kind of deity may it bless the Blessed.
I gained a lot of respect for that MP during the ‘poofs’ bit at the end there. As far as i can work out, he’s one of the only politicians who not only can take a joke, but also dish it out. Such as how he didn’t get upset about it, he just fired back.

I was lucky enough too about 9 years ago at Derby football ground centre . A teddy bear , wanting to chat & what he don't know about football aint worth knowing . Top bloke .

A lifetime in the performing arts, animal charity work, space advocacy, exploring, duties for the UK state and a great exponent of the noble art of cheering us all up. An extraordinary life force and feature of British life for almost six decades.

It's Yorkshire Day and I'm so proud Brian Blessed (whom I've loved since he was Fancy Smith) is also from God's Own County, as I am. What an amzing man he is :-)

How lucky was Marcus Brigstocke? He was a panellist for this and when someone had the genius idea of Sir Bruce hosting in 2003. Two of the best episodes ever.
No presenter I believe has ever come close to the shear entertainment of him hosting the show. All these years on it’s still as funny as the night I first saw this on the tv!
