- This is a video that shows how well these two added items help in not plowing all the gravel off your driveway. I use this method when the snow is stick and right around the zero degree Celsius range. Once this packs down and the weather stays cold, you can then switch to a snow blower.

Perfect set up for this time of the year before the ground freezes up, have a great weekend Mike and Michelle 👍🏻🙋🏼♂⛄🇨🇦
You two as well! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mike.
The pie on the blade is a great idea. 👍☃️
Great idea Mike driveway looks good, Great video thanks
The pipe on the bottom of the blade is a great idea. Clearing the snow looked fun, I hope we get snow this winter
Yes it works incredibly well. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mike.
That's a great idea Mike. This makes a lot of sense using the pvc pipe.
Yes works really well. Game changer for plowing. Cheers, Mike.
You’re blade is doing a very good job. I had to deal with rocks and that why I went with interlock on my city driveway...Well done....CHEERS
👍thanks for watching ! Cheers, Mike.
Well done Mike! I can't get over how jaw dropping your property and view are!!! Congrats on hitting 500 subs, hopefully things pick up and 1k is right around the corner! Cheers, Alex
Hey thanks Alex, we really love it here. Yeah nice to be +500 all good things come in time eh. Cheers, have a good one. mike.
Great idea Mike. And more affordable than the commercially available polycarbonite cutting edges.
I have 140 feet of gravel drive and a lawn tractor with a blower attachment. I have the same issue with rocks. All I can do until they freeze in place is drive up and down the drive to compact the snow into about a 1 inch base. Then I'm good.
I hear ya. It is way better snowblower once the ground is frozen. A guard like this on your blower might help in not picking up rocks. I run a guard on my blower the same as this one in the plow. Thanks for stopping by and watching. Cheers, Mike.
Nicely done Mike. Adding the tube really kept the plow blade from digging in. Looked like it was floating over the surface the way you want it to. I have my Kawasaki set up to plow on light snow days. It's a blast plowing with it. Have a good one!
You have a prairie as well ? Or a newer one.
I just love the 650 twin. Ours is a 2002 with 480 hours on it. 😳
@@maintenancewithmike Mine is a 2008 Brute Froce 650. Not sure on the hours.
@@JelenOutDoors Nice. The Brute is the new generation of the prairie. Almost identical I bet.
Just make sure you flush and change the antifreeze every few years. Prone to pitting.
Cheers, Mike.
Very Good Morning Fitness Jogging Sir 😇👌💪That is very nice Mad Max ATV Looking 🤣👍💪Very Nice Work with that snowplow 👍😇👌Have a nice week end Sir Cheers 😇😇👌👌👍👍🍻🍻
Yeah I might just leave all the plastic off! Looks pretty cool. Hey thanks for watching Dave! Cheers, Mike.
Good morning Mike ☕️, you are making me miss by 4×4. I sold it when we bought the tractor. I find there are lots of times we could use it with or instead of the tractor. I enjoyed the video. Have a great weekend, Ben 🚜❄️👍
Hey thanks for watching Ben! Yes I’d say most of our snow clean up here is with the quad. It is to warm in BC for it to freeze up for a good compact snow to use the blower. But occasionally we get so much snow the blower is needed. Cheers, Mike.
Cool tip 👍
It works outstanding! No more plowing the gravel off your driveway! Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my channel! Happy New Year. Mike
Good morning Mike. ☕️☕️
No snow here in our part of Iowa yet. Very unusual!
Morning Gary! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mike.
No snow for us yet Mike. I can't wait until it gets here. I know funny stuff right 😂. But I count on the snow. I aways have stuff for sale. I have 4 snowblowers that I can't sell because of no snow 😂😂😂 great show brother thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for tuning in! Have a great Holiday. 🤞snow
I used to plow with our Honda Rancher and a Warn plow blade. They are an excellent clean up tool. Not nearly as hard on the gravel driveway as the much heavier equipment is but certainly not as fast either.
Yeah I can move snow pretty quick with the quad if it’s under half a foot. But if it’s over that then you need the blower to get it further off the road, or the road just gets narrower and narrower. Cheers, Mike.
How's she goin'? That plow worked good eh. The poly pipe on the cutting edge is a great idea. There is nothing I hate worse than plowing all my gravel off the lane and into or onto the ditch or lawn!! Well done and your perma-tex repair worked good too!! Take 'er easy!!
Yes the pipe is a game changer. Close second is the 6” enlarged shoes. Have a great one!
Mad Mx look 🤣🤣🤣
Right! Could imagine the late Tina Turner ripping around on it. Lol.
Good stuff seen your sticker shout out from RCFA polar express. We just subscribed to your channel. We are a CZcams channel from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. 👍
Hello! Thanks for subscribing! Really nice to share things in this awesome community. I’ll head over to your channel later this evening. Thanks for reaching out. Cheers, Mike.
Who am I kidding. Went and had a look ! Nice 👍 stuff! New Subscriber!
@@maintenancewithmike you are welcome!
@@maintenancewithmike thank you 👍
Nice job. How does the plastic piece stay on the blade at the bottom Mike.
Does the blade angle.
Morning Noel! The plastic edge is friction fit only. I cut a slit in it with a skill saw, opened it up a bit to get it start and then some rubber mallet encouragement to get it on all the way. It has never come off now in a few years. Hey, thanks for watching! Cheers, Mike
You betcha. The blade angles, and has to angle settings each way.

Where did you get the oversized skid shoes Mike?
I had the discs pressed at a machine shop. I don’t own anything big enough to press those. They are 6inch discs pressed so they are concave, and a 3/4 stud welded to them. I have a video on my channel installing them. Cheers, Mike
I used 30$ ABS piping an it still broke on me in the cold. Im not sure whats going on.
Yeah not to sure. This is the second year I’ve had mine on. Once you cut the slit in it does it fit really tight in the blade? Like you need to pry the one end open and hit the other end with a rubber mallet to slide it on?
@maintenancewithmike yup that's exactly what I did why a buddy held the other end on tight. Wondering if an 1.5in pipe would be better or I'm dropping the plow to hard , being to high an the cold it cracks from the cutting edge. 🤔
@@sposatoas258 yeah I guess each plow may be thicker at the bottom. For example if you have a replaceable cutting edge it most likely will need a larger ID pipe. Hint… moving forward when I push piles I always come to a stop and lift the blade. Then go in reverse if needed. I have ripped mine off once leaving the blade down and trying to go in reverse. Good luck.
