A tip you may want to include for The NorthStar pumps with leak detection shut off in your future videos. I experienced that if you get any moisture on the outside of the white cartridges on the end you will set off the water detection shut off. As soon as it detects water and shuts off the cartridge is then done and you have to replace it. So it is very important to cover or enclose the pump where you will not get any water on it ever. My first pump from Northern Tool took me 4 cartridge replacements before I figured out what was going on.
I hope this may help others trouble shooting and money from having to buy new replacement cartridges.
Yea. You can also coat that outside of the detector with dielectric grease to keep it dry.
I think that part needs to be addressed at the engineering level
@@southeastsoftwash4020 can you make a video showing how to do that?
Is there a video of you setting up the batteries?
TY Cody!! i just got my pump from northern this week, you answered a couple things i was puzzling out.
Love their products. Thank you! Many in our industry think they’re garbage, I have been running northern tool bleach pumps for awhile flawlessly; compared to several other contractor buddies who are constantly swapping pressure switches etc. Mine just keeps going and going. Good video my friend 👍 Northstar knows their stuff!! Replacing the head takes less than 10 minutes and your back up and running. I usually get 3-4 months out of mine pushing it 4 days a week around 6 hours per day. Northern ships them via Amazon free shipping with prime. Build a schedule 80 lance with an udor gun and an inexpensive twist soap nozzle from Wallmart and your good to go, no more jrod. You have come a long way over the last 5 years, great to have a guy like you representing and creating to improve our industry and protect the customers investment.
I have a 5.5 gpm Everflo but want to upgrade to the 24 volt. Can I use the same softwash gun I have now with the new 24volt?
@@adamg.3138 Hi Adam, you’ll need to ask Cody with SESW; he produced this video, make sure to tell him what gun exactly you are using. To be honest unless you’re using a gas powered soft wash system then you’d need to upgrade to a higher psi rated gun. I assume that the 24 volt isn’t putting out anything over that but I have never used the 24v. Cody is the one to ask. I will research your question and get back to you when I know more. I will say the northstar pumps are specifically for bleach and I use them all the time. Hope you get the answers you need soon!
I got my blend manifold from you guys last week and I picked up a 24v 10gpm from Northern Tool. It was on backorder, but only took about 2 weeks to actually get it. Got it in yesterday. Can't wait to get it all working.
How's it working ?
@@SteveZ919 apparently the 10gpm pump won’t work properly with their blend manifold. Needs to be one inch valves. I just found a manifold a week ago and haven’t installed it yet.
@@waytruthlifedisciple let me know how it goes thank you
@@anthonyllanos4768 will do
@@waytruthlifedisciple any luck?
I just built a 3/4 proportioner. Getting ready to get one soon I hope.i know not one inch but is what it is for now. In need of new hose so glad I have held out on buying new.
The 3/4 is good for this. That's what I run on mine since that's what was suggested
It's been a while, Coty!
I'd love to come out and visit again sometime.
I'm seriously impressed by everything you've accomplished , over the years 🙌 👏
My business has been doing awesome, here in SC and I'm about to expand into a shop soon and I also got another truck,
(Duramax this time 💪)
I'm excited to see how far I can take my business (530% growth between 2020 and 2021) and I'm even helping out a few local guys, who are about to go full time. I enjoy showing guys how to get into the business, improve and do things the right way while always looking to improve, myself.
Keep up the great work, brother and God bless you and your family!
Ayyyyy
Good to hear from you man!
I would like to see you actually do the full setup.
thank you for doing this coty. ik youve been bombarded with comments on it
Looks good bro 👍
Keep setting the bar high 🏆
Love to see the hustle and grind 💪 and top notch systems. Keep up great the work
Thanks man!
So should you use 5/8” or 3/4” Ag hose for the 24 volt system? If you’re using 3/4” for all of the supply lines, then should you use it for the spray hose too? Or would 5/8” be better?
I like that block. Might try and get one built😏
That pump is on my Christmas list 😁
can you simply use a 24 volt battery to connect to the 24v pump?
Clif great video I will be going that route because of my budget I do have a different question also can you use a buffer tank to supply water to direct drive pressure washer that rated for 4.0 GPM
Any chance you guys will start offering a "24v upgrade kit" for previous customers to buy? I'm starting to round up all the parts in various shopping carts online as I plan it out, but it's always nice buying something from you guys knowing it's exactly what I need.
Yeah, it’s obviously something that we would like to offer, because we could sell a ton of that stuff.
The problem is we can barely get enough parts to build what we are doing every week in the shop.
The supply chain on some of these components is absolutely ridiculous. So it would not do me any good to put it on the website and then turn right around and list it back ordered or out of stock for the next six months.
Very strange times we are living in
@@southeastsoftwash4020 I completely understand and appreciate the response
I have a question. I’m a beginner. Why do you run 3/4 plumbing to hose reel and then switch to 5/8 hose. Can you use 3/4 hose to?
I still need to set ours up.
Did you get anywhere with NorthStar on the 24V pump issues?. I just read several reviews and a few as recent as 19 days ago with complaints of leaks all over the place ( not just from loose quick connect fittings ) and triggering the leak safety trigger shutting the pump down. some peol said it works for just a few days and the leaks killed the pump. Curious, what size tips are best for the 24v system?
You mentioned needing 1" metering valves & 3/4" suction plumbing for the 24v/10gpm setup; would that translate to it being beneficial to have 3/4" metering valves with the 1/2" suction plumbing on the 12v setup?
I was wondering this too. I would assume so, because the internals of the metering valves do take up some space and the hole isn’t exactly a 1/2” so upgrading one size up would be ideal. So if you’re running 1/2” lines I’d run 3/4” metering valves.
@@alexraymes for my 24v the 3/4 doesn’t seem like enough…
@@Letsgeauxpro Then I’d say go for 1”. I’ve been seeing a lot of guys lately running 1” for all of their plumbing.
24v monster!
Could that pump push 300 or 250 ft of hose or just 200ft??
Can you get one of the new rigs already done with the 24 volt??
I noticed this weekend billy Davidson went from being a customer to spending all his time trashing 12 volts. Evidently you have to replace a 12 volt 3 times a day sometimes in Louisiana 🤷♂️
Idk bro. These boys wild
@@southeastsoftwash4020 and last night y’all were called cons for wash con by the pressure wash “king” You got the world fired up!
Lol that only happens when you don't flush out correctly
Coty you mentioned you have to run the batteries in series to make it compatible 24 volts to the pump. My question is are you able to charge with your 3 bank 12v noco charger or do you need to buy another charger for 24 volts
They should charge both 12v and 24v
Thinking about building this for making pre and post treating concrete much quicker. Does this work well for that type of application? Or is it mostly just going to help you reach higher Peaks?
The northern tool system comes with 200 ft of 3/4 hose. Coty how will flow and reach compare to the 5/8 hose? Thanks
Hey I how did you guy clamp your hose to the tee. Was hoping I'd see you show that. The super glue is a great idea I'm gonna do that right now actually. I've just been struggling since it vibrates so much the hoses come lose sometimes off the crappy 3/4 Barb. I double clamp it too.
On the North Star 24 v can you convert the inlet hose size from the standard 3/4 to 1/2 inch
Afternoon , I was wondering if you guys do any financing or payment plans ?
So we gotta use a 3/4 hose to wash the house/roof?
Do you any tips for 24v pump?
Can i get a Banshee 24V battery, ?
I dnt want to have 2 batteries pls let me know pls.
How much would that truck skid set up go for
how about a comparison video test 12 vs. 24
They did that video already.
Hey Cody will the 1/2 set up you have there be ok with a 7gmp pump.
Are the supply hoses going to the mix manifold all the same length, in your experience how much does that matter?
Awesome stuff
You know they ain’t worth a piss 😂😂😂
@@southeastsoftwash4020 haha 😂😂
any idea on what brand 5/8 hose you will be running? also are you running a 5/8th hose with the threaded 1/2 mpt?
What spray tips do you use with it?
What size hose is required for the 24v for max performance? Mine has a 1/2" 200'. I'm not satisfied with the volume or distance of it. Maybe its the soft wash gun and nozzles? I'm gonna swap to the 3/4 plastic wand and an 0060, 2540, and tall reach nozzle or davis shooter tip. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
What is your suction side plumbed up like?
@@southeastsoftwash4020 3/4”
@@MrTMacify we run 5/8 on discharge hose.
It could also be your gun restriction
@@southeastsoftwash4020 I’m gonna swap the hose and gun and try that.
I have 5/8 discharge and a red nozzle gun but it lacks pressure
Hey Cody I can't find your 24v mod video anymore that deletes motor armor. Is it gone or do you have a schematic? Thanks man
It’s in the tech support tab on my website
www.southeastsoftwash.com/troubleshooting-tech-support/
Can you run those blue guns on this set up?
Very cool.
When just starting off would you recommend just getting the 24v pump from jump or getting a 12v system and work your way into the 24v system? Looking to get a brand new build built for the coming season. I'm a fan of "buy once cry once" but if it's not needed then I'm ok with the 12v system.
Thanks guys
Not needed, just “nice to have”
@@southeastsoftwash4020 for sure. Would you say it would be fine to use the 24v pump as the only pump on the rig? Ie. Soft wash and pre/post treatment for flat surface
Super 8
Yay 🤩🤩
What’s the PSI output on those pumps?
Thanks for the information my guy. Your videos are always spot on.
That's the one question I've been waiting to hear
are you applying with 24v. or rinsing?
Can do either
@@southeastsoftwash4020 I've been trying to find something that I can use for rinsing as efficiently as my 8 gallon a minute unit I'm using now everybody keeps telling me good luck
